Today we’re taking you to Castell de Capdepera, which sits 159 metres above sea level on Mallorca’s northeast coast, and it’s one of the island’s most extraordinary hidden gems.

A few facts you might not know:
🔥 In 1229, King Jaume I lit bonfires on this hilltop to simulate a massive army — the bluff worked, Menorca surrendered without a single battle, and the historic Treaty of Capdepera was signed here.
🏯 Construction began in 1300, built over a Moorish watchtower dating back to the 10th century.
⛪ Inside the walls you’ll find the Gothic Church of Our Lady of Hope — still standing, still stunning.
👁️ On a clear day, you can see all the way to Menorca from the top.
