New Profile-built Baby Ambulances are now strengthening the treatment and transport of critically ill children across the Capital Region of Denmark 🇩🇰🚑
Two specially designed baby ambulances — functioning as fully equipped mobile intensive care units — have now entered service in Copenhagen and the surrounding region, enabling advanced treatment to begin already during transport.
These ambulances support newborns, premature babies, and young children up to approximately 10 years old in life-threatening situations.
Each vehicle is equipped with space for two incubators, allowing twins to be treated simultaneously, while also ensuring room for parents so families can stay together throughout the journey. The ambulances even include calming music and light features for the children, as well as coffee facilities for parents.
Every detail of the interior and construction has been carefully designed to create the safest and most secure environment possible for vulnerable children, their families, and healthcare professionals. Advanced sound insulation and modern medical technology improve both patient comfort and working conditions for staff.
The two newly inaugurated baby ambulances are staffed by highly experienced intensive care nurses and specialist doctors who can stabilize, diagnose, and treat children on the way to Rigshospitalet — where every second can make a difference.
