For most of his life, Deepak stayed away from water.

Swimming wasn't part of his childhood, and over time, a fear of water followed him into adulthood. Then, during one of his son's swimming lessons, everything changed.

His son challenged him to stop standing on the sidelines and learn to swim himself. What began as a journey to overcome a lifelong fear became a powerful lesson in leadership, humility, and continuous learning.

As Deepak learned from his son, he discovered that valuable knowledge can come from anywhere, regardless of age, experience, or hierarchy. Today, that lesson continues to influence how he works and leads at AUMOVIO.

What do a candy robot, software development and a career in Technical Computer Science have in common? 🤖🍬

At IAA Transportation 2026, Jonas Huettner introduced AUMOVIO DiCaramello – a quiz-powered candy robot developed by our apprentices in Regensburg.

But DiCaramello is about more than sweets. It is the result of teamwork, creativity, and hands-on learning.

As a dual student in Technical Computer Science, Jonas shares insights into his work, the projects he contributes to and how collaboration within the team helps turn ideas into reality.

Because at AUMOVIO, innovation doesn't only happen in large development projects. It also starts when young talent is given the opportunity to gain practical experience, take ownership and contribute from day one.

After an exciting week of customer meetings, innovation and industry discussions at IAA Transportation 2026, our booth took on a new role for the Drivers' & Family Weekend.

Several technology exhibits made room for interactive experiences developed and presented by our own apprentices. Visitors could test a driving simulator and take on the challenge of AUMOVIO DiCaramello, a quiz-powered candy robot, rewarding correct answers with a sweet treat. The foosball table also proved to be a crowd favorite, sparking plenty of exciting matches and friendly competition in the spirit of our "Committed to Win" mindset.

Throughout the weekend, our team, supported by apprentices and dual students, welcomed visitors, explained the exhibits, shared insights into their work, and talked about career opportunities at AUMOVIO. For us, the weekend was a great opportunity to showcase not only our technologies, but also the people, skills, and passion behind them.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our booth and especially to our apprentices and dual students who represented us with so much commitment and enthusiasm.
