IAT Establishes AI Technology Company to Accelerate Deployment in the Intelligent New Track

Amid the explosive growth of the automotive artificial intelligence market, IAT Automotive Technology Co., Ltd. has officially announced the establishment of "Beijing IAT Taiyi Artificial Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd." (hereinafter referred to as IAT Taiyi). The new company is jointly invested by IAT, Shuimu Venture Capital, Beijing Yingweite Da Technology Limited Partnership, and others. Shuimu Venture Capital is a market-oriented venture capital fund under Tsinghua University’s Institute of Industrial Innovation, established for over 10 years. IAT Taiyi will open up a new track involving AI foundational software development, application system development, and platform construction.

Market research data shows that the global automotive AI market size is expected to reach USD 16.154 billion by 2027, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) as high as 35.2%. Among them, the Chinese market is growing even faster, expected to increase from USD 358 million in 2020 to USD 3.802 billion in 2027, with a CAGR of 41.79%.

It is reported that the newly established IAT Taiyi will focus on core technology R&D in automotive product attribute large models, automotive design knowledge large models, CAD intelligent generation large models, styling generation large models, performance reverse engineering large models, and CAE intelligent simulation large models. IAT possesses industry-leading data resource advantages, including 5,470 primary technical standards, over 6,000 overseas regulatory databases, as well as abundant CAE data, test data, and vehicle model data, all providing a solid foundation for AI model training.

"Establishing an AI company is a key strategic layout for us in the intelligent era," said a relevant person in charge at IAT. "We will fully leverage our accumulated experience in automotive design combined with cutting-edge AI technology to provide more innovative solutions for the industry. We will continuously build foundational layers such as computing power and, based on the development of seven core models, generate hundreds of algorithm toolsets or intelligent agents for industry applications, thereby empowering global automotive design and even industrial design fields."

The new company adopts a dual-driven business model of "R&D + services," which can provide vertical model R&D services for vehicle manufacturers, sell and license AI software, and collaborate with the parent company to offer comprehensive AI solutions. The company team will be mainly composed of IAT’s core technical personnel, supplemented by external expert support, to build a compound talent team with both automotive expertise and AI technical capabilities.

IAT Automobile and Mirai Energy Reach Strategic Cooperation

Recently, IAT Automobile Technology Co., Ltd. announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Japan’s Mirai Energy Business Cooperative (hereinafter referred to as Mirai Energy). Both parties will jointly develop a 4-axle fuel heavy truck EV conversion kit and achieve mass production and sales. This cooperation marks an important breakthrough for IAT in the electrification of commercial vehicles.

Mirai Energy is a cooperative composed of Japanese truck transport operators dedicated to improving transportation efficiency through complementary resources and information sharing, aiming to optimize costs and enhance mutual credit. The organization also focuses on key issues such as education, safety, and labor for truck transport workers.

According to the agreement, IAT will leverage its technical advantages in new energy vehicle R&D to provide Mirai Energy with professional EV conversion kit solutions. The project will develop a complete EV conversion kit including motor systems, battery systems, and more.

“This cooperation is a significant milestone in IAT’s commercial vehicle electrification strategy,” said an IAT representative at the signing ceremony. “We are pleased to collaborate with an influential industry organization like Mirai Energy to jointly promote the electrification transformation of heavy-duty trucks. IAT will fully utilize its technological expertise in new energy vehicles to provide customers with efficient and reliable electrification solutions.”

This powerful alliance will maximize each party’s strengths: IAT contributes professional new energy vehicle R&D technology and engineering capabilities, while Mirai Energy offers rich real-world operational data and scenario requirements. Through close collaboration, both sides will ensure the EV conversion kits meet the diverse needs of actual transportation scenarios.

JETRO Delegation Visits IAT Global Customization Center Highlighting China’s Automotive Design Strength

Recently, a delegation of Japanese automotive supply chain companies organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) visited IAT’s global customization center, known as the "Karlmann Planet." As the concluding event of the delegation’s series of activities, the visit attracted representatives from 15 well-known Japanese automotive parts suppliers and trading companies, providing a valuable platform for in-depth exchange and cooperation between the Chinese and Japanese automotive industries.

During the visit, IAT, a leading independent Chinese automotive design company with comprehensive capabilities in exterior and interior development, introduced its business development and the latest trends in the Chinese automotive market to the Japanese representatives. The delegation focused on touring the Karlmann Studio, where real vehicles of the Karlmann brand and IAT’s recent achievements and development cases were showcased, sparking strong interest among the Japanese participants.

Karlmann Planet, as IAT’s investment-incubated global customization center, prominently displayed the avant-garde high-end Karlmann brand products and experience scenarios, along with some intelligent exhibits oriented towards the future.

In the exchange session, Japanese company representatives showed high attention to the Chinese market. Nearly half of the 15 Japanese companies traveled specially from Japan to attend, with total attendees exceeding 30. Many expressed that the event gave them a new understanding of China’s automotive design capabilities.

Regarding supply chain concerns raised by the Japanese representatives, IAT advised Japanese suppliers to deepen their understanding of Chinese market demands and offer more competitive products and solutions. An IAT official emphasized that Chinese consumers are price-sensitive to electric vehicles and suggested Japanese companies focus more on building China’s industrial chain and strengthening their “localization” brand positioning in China.

Additionally, IAT’s self-developed AI styling generation tool became a focal point of discussion. This tool, developed based on IAT’s years of styling experience and vehicle functional requirements, significantly shortens the design cycle. The official revealed that the tool has been successfully applied in styling projects commissioned by certain automakers.

As an important example of international cooperation, IAT also introduced its progress in collaborating with Japan’s leading parts supplier Yazaki, jointly advancing the development and manufacturing of the Boost PDU unit since last year. Furthermore, IAT cooperates with semiconductor trading company RYOSAN to ensure the supply of critical semiconductors.

This event built a strong platform for Sino-Japanese automotive industry exchange. As a leading Chinese automotive R&D enterprise, IAT maintains close cooperation with Japanese clients and suppliers. Looking ahead, IAT will continue to leverage its design innovation advantages to support the collaborative development of the global automotive industry, dedicating itself to integrating technology with automobiles.

IAT Launches AI Design Tool "TAI" to Revolutionize Automotive Styling

On March 25, IAT Automobile unveiled TAI, a vertical AI tool for automotive design, at its Shanghai launch event. As the industry's first AI-driven solution focused on styling, TAI integrates creative exploration, rapid drafting, rendering, and optimization to streamline design workflows, marking a leap into AI-powered automotive innovation.

Developed through collaborations with NVIDIA and Tsinghua University’s AIR, TAI combines IAT’s 20+ years of design expertise with advanced AI training from millions of design cases. It addresses key challenges in efficiency and precision while ensuring data security via flexible deployment (local/cloud).

Key features include multi-angle auto-generation, 2D-to-3D conversion (future update), and instant design comparisons. The tool also offers specialized presets for components like headlights and seats, alongside multilingual support.

Beyond cars, IAT is adapting TAI for off-road vehicles and tractors, signaling cross-industry potential. An executive highlighted TAI as the first application in IAT’s AI ecosystem, which includes CAD/CAE automation and simulation models.
