Helpful Tip Friday!!

With summer fast approaching our helpful tip this week is regarding a service we offer!

❄️ We can perform A/C recharges on R-134a systems to help keep your vehicle comfortable during the warmer months. If your air conditioning isn’t cooling like it used to, it could be low on refrigerant or have a leak within the system. ❄️

Common signs your A/C may need attention:
• Warm air from the vents
• Weak cooling performance
• A/C compressor cycling on and off frequently
• Strange noises when the A/C is running

Our service includes checking system pressures, inspecting for obvious leaks, and properly recharging your R-134a A/C system to manufacturer specifications.

🚛 Why Washing Your Vehicle Before Service Matters 🚛

Bringing your truck or vehicle in clean for a service isn’t just about appearance — it can actually save you money.

Excessive mud, dirt, snow, oil buildup, or debris can make it harder and more time-consuming for technicians to properly inspect and work on your vehicle. In some cases, extra cleaning time is required before repairs can even begin, which may result in additional labour costs.

A clean vehicle helps us:
• Perform inspections more efficiently
• Access components safely and properly
• Spot leaks, damage, and wear more accurately
• Complete repairs faster

Clean trucks help keep your service time — and costs — down. 👍

Good day everyone!

Please be advised that we are experiencing an internet outage with Xplorenet as there is a train derailment causing an Alberta wide shortage.

We ask for patience and understanding as we make do with pens and paper. 😁

🔥 Spark Plugs – Small Part, Big Job 🔥

Gas vehicle’s

Spark plugs may be small, but they play a huge role in your engine’s performance. They ignite the air/fuel mixture in your engine, keeping your vehicle running smoothly and efficiently.

Over time, spark plugs wear out and can lead to:
• Hard starts
• Rough idle
• Poor fuel economy
• Loss of power
• Engine misfires
• Check engine lights

Worn spark plugs can also put extra strain on ignition coils and other engine components, potentially leading to more costly repairs down the road.

Replacing spark plugs at the recommended interval helps:
✅ Improve fuel efficiency
✅ Restore performance
✅ Reduce emissions
✅ Keep your engine running reliably

Whether it’s:
• Routine maintenance
• Oil changes
• Brake work
• Diagnostics
• Tire changes
• Or larger repairs

Planning ahead helps keep your vehicle safe, reliable, and on the road when you need it most.

Waiting until warning lights come on, strange noises appear, or a breakdown happens can mean longer downtime and fewer scheduling options. Booking early gives us the time to properly inspect and service your vehicle before small problems become major repairs.

If you know your vehicle is due for service soon, now is the perfect time to get on the schedule. We appreciate everyone’s continued support and patience as we stay busy keeping vehicles running strong! 💪🚘

Fuel Filters: Small Part, Big Protection 🔧

Your fuel filter plays a critical role in keeping your engine running smoothly. It traps dirt, rust, and other contaminants before they can reach sensitive components like your fuel injectors and high-pressure pump.

Over time, that filter gets clogged—and when it does, problems start to show:
• Hard starts or no starts
• Loss of power under load
• Poor fuel economy
• Rough idle or hesitation
• Increased strain on your fuel system

For diesel engines especially, clean fuel is everything. Modern systems run at extremely high pressures, and even tiny particles can cause costly damage.

Regularly replacing your fuel filter is one of the simplest and most cost-effective ways to protect your engine and avoid expensive repairs down the road.

Today we are going to talk about a cost saving option for rotors!

💰Machining Your Brake Rotors – A Smart Way to Save 💰

When it comes to a brake service, replacing rotors isn’t always the only option. If your rotors are still within spec, machining (also known as resurfacing) can be a cost-effective alternative that gets you safely back on the road.

Over time, brake rotors can develop:
• Grooves and scoring
• Minor warping (causing vibration)
• Uneven wear

Instead of replacing them right away, machining removes a thin layer of material to create a smooth, even surface for your new brake pads to contact.

Why consider machining?
✔️ Saves money compared to full replacement
✔️ Restores proper braking performance
✔️ Extends the life of your existing components
✔️ Reduces waste — better for the environment

Helpful tip Friday!!!

Today we are going to talk about fluids! More specifically: Transmission, Transfer Case and Differential fluid.

🛻 Transmission Fluid
- 1st Pic (Note: This should be red in colour)
This fluid does more than just lubricate — it cools, cleans, and helps transfer power. Dirty or low fluid can lead to:
• Hard or slipping shifts
• Overheating
• Premature transmission failure

🛻 Transfer Case Fluid (4x4/AWD)
- 2nd Pic (Note: The fluid is sparkly which indicates metal filling’s)
The transfer case distributes power between front and rear axles. Neglecting it can cause:
• Binding or jerking in 4WD
• Noisy operation
• Internal gear wear

🛻 Differential Fluid
- 3rd Pic (Note: This is murky indicating water present)
Your diffs handle the power going to your wheels. Over time, fluid breaks down and collects metal particles. If ignored, you may see:
• Whining or howling noises
• Increased wear on gears and bearings
• Expensive rebuilds

‼️ Why it matters
These components work hard every time you drive — especially in trucks that tow, haul, or see harsh conditions. Regular fluid checks and services help:
• Extend component life
• Improve performance
• Prevent major repair bills

Keeping your drivetrain fluids in check is one of the most overlooked, yet most important parts of vehicle maintenance.

Your transmission, transfer case, and differentials all rely on clean, properly filled fluid to keep everything running smoothly and prevent costly damage.

A quick fluid check today can save you thousands tomorrow.

If you’re unsure when yours were last serviced, it’s probably time to take a look.

Stop Leak and Your Heater Core – What You Should Know 🚗🔥

Stop leak products are often marketed as a quick and inexpensive fix for coolant leaks. While they can sometimes temporarily slow down a small leak, they can also create bigger problems—especially in your heater core.

When stop leak circulates through the cooling system, it can settle and harden in tight passages, leading to issues like:
• Little to no heat inside the vehicle
• Restricted coolant flow
• Overheating problems
• Costly heater core replacement (which often requires dash removal)

Once a heater core becomes clogged, flushing the system doesn’t always fix it. In many cases the heater core must be replaced, turning what started as a small leak into a much larger repair.

The bottom line:
Stop leak may seem like a quick solution, but it can cause more damage than it solves. The best fix for a coolant leak is diagnosing the source and repairing it properly.
