🚸 School Zone Speed Limits Are Back in Effect! 🚸

As students head back to school, it’s time to slow down and stay extra alert in school zones. 🏫👧🧒

🚗 A few important reminders:
✔️ Slow down when you see school zone signs.
✔️ Watch carefully for children crossing or near the roadway.
✔️ Be prepared to stop—children can be unpredictable.
✔️ Put your phone away and keep your full attention on the road.
✔️ Give yourself plenty of time and space to react.

A few extra seconds of patience can help keep our children safe. 💛

Let's all do our part to make our roads safer for students, families, and our community.

👈🚗👉Use turn signal to let other drivers know what you intend to do. Signaling does not give you the right of way. You must still check your shoulder before turning.✨

Winter Driving Tips for new drivers:
1. Slow Down – Roads can be icy even if they look clear. Reduce your speed.
2. Increase Following Distance – Give yourself extra space to stop.
3. Brake Gently – Slamming the brakes can cause skidding.
4. Use Low Beams in Snow – High beams reflect off snow and reduce visibility.
5. Clear All Windows – Remove snow/ice from all windows, mirrors, and lights.
6. Keep a Winter Kit – Include blankets, flashlight, snacks, water, and a shovel.
7. Check Tire Pressure – Cold weather lowers tire pressure.
8. Keep Your Tank Half Full – Prevents fuel line freeze and keeps you ready for delays.
9. Avoid Cruise Control – It can cause you to lose control on slippery roads.
10. Know How to Handle Skids – Steer in the direction you want to go; don’t panic or overcorrect.
