Time to unite our wings behind our colleague - New details have emerged about Solange Tremblay, the veteran crew member now being called the “miracle flight attendant” following the devastating crash at New York’s LaGuardia Airport, and the reality of her condition is far more severe than initially reported.

Tremblay, a senior flight attendant with more than 26 years of service, was seated in her forward jump seat just behind the cockpit of the Bombardier CRJ-900 operated by Jazz Aviation under the Air Canada Express banner when the aircraft, having just landed and slowing down, collided with an airport fire truck.

In the moment of impact, she was ejected more than 320 feet ( 98 Meters) from the aircraft, still strapped into her jump seat, and found alive on the tarmac, a survival that has stunned the aviation world.

But behind that miracle is a far more difficult reality.

According to her daughter, Sarah Lépine, Tremblay sustained catastrophic injuries. Both of her legs were shattered in open fractures, requiring multiple surgeries and the insertion of metal plates. She also suffered a fractured spine, with doctors still determining whether additional surgery will be required.

She lost significant skin tissue while sliding across the runway and will require skin grafts. Complications following her initial surgery led to a blood transfusion, and she now faces a critical risk of infection as her recovery continues.

She remains hospitalized in New York, where she is undergoing ongoing treatment and facing a long, uncertain road ahead.

Despite the severity of the crash, she remained conscious throughout the ordeal.

Her recovery will require multiple additional surgeries, along with intensive rehabilitation as she works toward walking again.

Now, the aviation community is rallying around her.

Crew members, colleagues, and supporters from around the world are coming together to support Tremblay, raising funds to help cover the financial strain of her recovery and the loss of income during this critical time.

After dedicating her life to caring for passengers, the industry she served is now standing firmly beside her.

Her family is asking for support, whether through donations via GoFundMe or by sharing her story, as she begins the long and difficult journey toward healing.

The link to support her recovery will be posted below. If you’re unable to contribute, sharing her story can make a difference.
