On being yourself.

I spent my entire life being told I was "too much" too talkative, too loud, too fat, too excited, too hyper, too obnoxious, too "in your face" yada, yada ,yada.

And so there would be phases where I'd try and change that. Where I'd dial myself way back because I thought I was embarrassing, or that my contributions were dumb. Where I'd hide the things I enjoy the most about myself or that make me the happiest. And I would essentially become very closed off because I didnt think people would enjoy "the real me" or that I "didnt want to come on too strong"

But whenever Im not being authentically myself, Im closed off, disingenuous, and overall just unhappy. And thats not how I want to live.

And so, instead I wear butterflies in my hair, I dye my hair silly colors, I laugh loudly, smile big, make ridiculous jokes, listen whole heartedly, support the people I love with all that I have and just ENJOY being the person that I am. And when I do that, THATS when true genuine friendships and interactions form. Belonging isn't about just being part of the group. Its about being part of the group EXACTLY AS YOU ARE.

This is exactly the person the universe designed me to be, and it did that for a reason. So- who am I to fight against that?

So go be yourself, if someone doesnt like you because of that- honestly thats okay- they aren't meant to be in your life then. Go and find the people who are!

2000 miles, and definitely 2000 smiles. Monday we left Alberta for Chandler, Arizona taking the VERY scenic route. And today we head home, exhausted but hearts full.

Thank you everyone we met, for letting us into your lives and encouraging us in ours. It was so cool to meet so many of you.

Im ready to snuggle the dogs and get to editing probably the most footage I've ever filmed.

Until next time!

What's that saying? No rain, nor sleet, nor snow can stop the US Postal service? Something like that? Well it also can't stop a 55 Chevy Nomad!

Day Two of our drive from Calgary, Alberta to Chandler, Arizona. Today we went from Idaho Falls to Moab and we definetly needed our rain jackets.

Out of all our driving days-today was supposed to be the simplest, easiest and relaxing. It in fact was not.

Snow, sleet, rain, near mudslides, dense fog... we had ALL the weather!

But we made it through!
