Frequent short trips in the winter will create moisture in the throttle body and the oil cap could potentially turned into following problems:

Moisture and Condensation: Short journeys may prevent the engine from reaching its ideal operating temperature, which can cause condensation and moisture buildup in a number of engine parts. This moisture has the ability to combine with engine fluids, including oil, to generate a gunky material.

Blow-by Gases: During short trips in chilly weather, the engine could not warm up completely. Increased blow-by gases, which include water v***r and other impurities, may arise from this. The yellowish substance can form as a result of these gasses condensing in the throttle body and on the oil cap.

Incomplete Combustion: Short journeys and cold starts can result in incomplete combustion, which can produce byproducts that combine with engine oil to generate the sludge you're seeing.

It can lead towards the lack of engine power, throttle body failure or even it can throw some engine light trouble codes. If you are having these issues, get your vehicle diagnosed by a professional mechanic.

- Do you have trouble starting your vehicle in the morning?
- Does your vehicle start after a long crank?
- Do you have issues driving your vehicle after a long crank start?

Read this first before you blame the fuel pump and replace it. Fuel pump control module is an electrical device that communicates with ECM and regulates the fuel supply as per need. If the fuel pump control module is somehow faulty, that can overload the fuel pump and cause the fuel pump to fail.

In this case, the customer requested to replace the fuel pump. When we inspected and tested the system, we found that the fuel pump control module was not communicating with ECM. After taking a close look at the module, our technician concluded that the vehicle was in a long crank start condition for a while. The reason behind it was a faulty burnt out fuel pump control module which eventually failed the fuel pump.

If your vehicle is behaving the same, do not diagnose it by yourself, Let us take care of your vehicle. Something like this can put your vehicle on fire. Why take risks when you have professionals available nearby.

Vehicles that are too noisy in our neighbourhoods disturb peace. There is a system to determine whether your vehicle is too loud or acceptable.

A police officer can pull you over if your car is excessively noisy, some officers may demand that your car undergo a noise test at a SGI certified inspection station. You must make the necessary repairs to bring your vehicle in compliance with the aforementioned rules if it fails the noise test. Your vehicle's registration may be terminated if you don't rectify it.

In Saskatchewan, all light vehicles must test at or below 101.3 decibels when measured in line with SGI's vehicle noise regulation.

At Harry's Auto Service, We can perform a noise test on your vehicle to see if the exhaust is passable with the new law or not. We are an SGI certified inspection station for SGI excessive exhaust noise test and SGI safety inspections. Please give us a call to book the test if you are thinking your vehicle is too loud.

EVAP LEAK

The most common reason why an Engine light shows an evap code is maybe because of a loose gas cap. But other issue that may cause an Evap code may not be simple and may require further diagnostic such as a smoke test procedure.

Smoke test is one of the most accurate diagnostic procedure when finding an evap leak. In this case we found a leak at the evap canister due to road hazard.

BALANCING BEADS
-
Balancing the tires with beads saves time and cost efficient. Balancing beads have more positive impact than aluminum wheel weights since the beads stabilizes the axle, tire and wheel. It only takes a few rotations for the beads to counteract and find their balance position.
