It was a great weekend at Route 1 Raceway. We had been struggling with a handling issue early this season but after some chassis adjustment help from AJ Thompson at No Limit Karts & Parts we had Ryker’s Ultramax Racing Evolve back on point, turning fast lap times all weekend! After going 1/2 in the heat races on Friday night we rolled off second for the feature. Ryker battled for the lead early but would have to settle for P2.

Saturday was the 5th Annual Stew Massender Memorial Race. Ryker started his morning at 6:15am out of the motorhome, hard at work to get his kart ready to go for the day. After going 1/3 in the heats we rolled off 2nd for the 35 lap feature. The green flag dropped and Ryker took the lead coming out of turn 2 and went on to lead 34 of the 35 laps, including the most important lap 35, bringing home the checkers! There was lots of tight racing and Ryker crossed the finished line with the always fast 15W right on his bumper.

It is always a pleasure to participate in this event where the crew at Route 1 Raceway does a fantastic job of honouring the memory of Stew. We would like to thank all of our sponsors who help us get to the track each week and all of those who jumped on board to help make this event a success and provide some of the best payouts seen in kart racing. Hanging the big cheque and Memorial Flag in the shop means a lot to our team.

Our little buddy Brooks took to the track this weekend in our other kart in the future driver class. He is getting faster each time he hits the track and got his first heat race win this weekend!!

We couldn’t do what we do without those that help us each week in the shop and at the track!

5th time is a charm. See everyone tonight to kick off our 2026 Season.

**RACE DAY**

IT IS RACE DAY! Weather is looking great for this evening and track is rolling in nicely. A few quick notes on this evenings events:

- We are CASH ONLY
- Pit Parking is due TODAY
- Transponders are needed for all classes (except futures). If you are using the same barcode from last season, please have a picture with all digits legible. New barcodes can be purchased for $10
- Online waivers are REQUIRED for everyone entering the pits. If you do not have yours completed by the time you reach the sign in table, you will be asked to proceed to the spectator area until you have completed it. (https://route1raceway.speedwaiver.com/vpsgb)
- NO PERSONAL VEHICLES IN THE PITS. The pit area is small and utilized by only vehicles with karts, all other vehicles are required to park on the spectator side.
- Please bear with us on the sign in line, we will do your best to keep the line moving, you can help by HAVING YOUR ONLINE WAIVER READY.

After almost two months without finishing a night of racing due to rainouts and a bad wreck that left our wheel man a little rattled we got back at it last night for a double feature event at Route 1 Raceway. We had a fast kart all night, laying down fastest lap times right up there with the leaders but just didn’t end up with finishes to match. After last night we know the kart is in good shape and the wheel man is back doing what he loves. We have three points races left this season and then the big Thanksgiving Throwdown to look forward to. It’s race day and the weather is looking much better after getting rained out prior to our feature race the past two events. Today we pay tribute to Stew Massender, a great guy who was always helping out at our local race tracks. Ryker had the honour of carrying the memorial flag for the four wide salute prior to today’s event beginning.

It’s RACE WEEK for our first two-day event of the 2025 season, with our 4th Annual Stew Massender Memorial. The Stew Massender Memorial has made its presence known on Father’s Day weekend since its inaugural running in 2022.

It was a very busy weekend for the 22 team. Ryker and crew arrived at the track and had everything setup and ready to go when the crew chief arrived. After going 2/2 in the heats we started the feature P2. After getting wide in turn two Ryker got shuffled back to 4th, quickly racing his way back up to 3rd he was unable to make the pass for 2nd so came out with a P3 finish. We will spend the next couple weeks trying to squeeze a little more speed out of it and be back at Route 1 Raceway again on May 30th.
