One product idea Gabriel has been working on is an oil pump chain tensioner for BMW M50, M52, and M54 engines.

Unlike the E46 M3 (S54), these engines did not come with a factory oil pump chain tensioner. A common modification is to weld or secure safety wire to the oil pump nut to prevent it from backing out. However, the chain can still cause repeated shock loads on the oil pump shaft, potentially leading to shaft failure.

Our goal was to develop a chain tensioner that could be installed by simply removing the oil pan, eliminating the need to remove the entire front cover. With the prototype now validated using 3D printed components, the next step is to manufacture the bracket using its final material.

We’ve finally found an affordable water-to-air cooler solution for anyone looking to get more performance out of their 1.4T swapped MK1!

Using an affordable automotive grade oil cooler core, we found an option that fits the limited space available in the engine bay while keeping the ports easily accessible. From there, we designed a custom bracket to secure the cooler in place, following the radiator’s contours to maintain a clean look.

After this weekend’s drift event, Gabriel ran into issues with the stock e-brake mechanism. Being used to an in-line hydraulic handbrake setup, he decided that instead of swapping cables, it was time to design a proper in-line kit for the S-Chassis!

Our goal is to mount a Wilwood Engineering handle and master cylinder to the transmission tunnel using a custom bracket that we’ll soon be listing online, all while keeping the factory center console as untouched as possible.

Since some of you were curious about the door cards on our MK1 pickup, here they are!

Using the original door card as a reference, Fred took some measurements and went to work. Made entirely from scratch, these new cards are vinyl wrapped and use foam underneath to retain a factory look and texture.
