(EN/FR dubbed) A practical tip for anyone camping off-grid with a trailer! A drone can be more than just a filming tool. When towing an overland trailer into an unknown boondocking spot, it can be incredibly useful for scouting ahead before committing to the road.

In this example, we use a quick drone flight to check for access, obstacles, other campers, and enough room to turn around. It is a simple habit that can save time, reduce stress, and help avoid getting stuck in a difficult situation.

Avant d’emprunter un chemin inconnu menant à un emplacement de camping sauvage, faites un rapide survol.
En quelques minutes, vous pourrez vérifier l’accès, repérer les obstacles, voir si le site est déjà occupé et confirmer qu’il y a suffisamment d’espace pour manœuvrer ou faire demi-tour.

Une simple vérification peut vous faire économiser beaucoup de temps, éviter bien du stress… et surtout vous éviter de vous retrouver coincé au mauvais endroit.

Parfois, le meilleur réflexe est simplement de prendre un peu de hauteur avant de poursuivre la route.
