Manufacturers are using more and more plastic in their engine designs to lower cost.

The issue though is the plastic cracks from constantly expanding and contracting as the engine heats up and cools down. A common failure is the oil filter housing on the V6 chrysler engines, just like the one in this 2018 Rubicon.

Luckily there is a fix!! Instead of replacng the part with another plastic one it is recommended to upgrade to the aluminum version eliminating the plastic! Included with the part is all new gaskets, hardware and of course a oil filter.

This serpentine belt didn't have long before it failed and became a bigger issue.
Fortunately, the customer approved the repair before that happened.

This is one reason why regular inspections and maintenance can be crucial.

This customer had a oil leak from the OEM plastic oil filter housing on their chrysler/dodge/jeep V6.

We upgraded it with an aftermarket all metal housing that is designed to withstand the constant cold to hot temperatures produced by the engine.
