Night of Champions has brought our 2026 Rookie season at Speedway 660 in the Gallon’s Auto Salvage Sharpshooter Division to an end!
After spending the week putting the car back together, we got out for one practice on Saturday and everything seemed to be working as it should.
Our heat race had us starting 3rd and managed to snag the lead a few laps in for our 3rd heat race win of the season and in a row. The feature had us starting P3 and off the start we were able to slip into P2 behind the #72 car of Dustin James Lee Hamilton. A few laps in we were able to capitalize coming out of turn 4 as the #72 pushed up the track a bit, leaving an opening to scoot under for the lead.
Now, as Kyle from Go For Broke Racing would say, we had to run like a scared rabbit and that we did. Lol We pushed the car to the point that we were turning right in the corners and with a caution free race, we ended our rookie season with our first feature win!
While we fell 14 points shy in the "Rookie of the Year" points race with two DNFs and a wreck on Speed Weekend, it's hard to be disappointed as we closed out the season strong. The last few races saw us bringing in 3 Heat Race wins, a 3rd place podium in the Randy Titus 75 Gunslinger and our first feature win on Night of Champions.
That being said, those that know me, know that I am never satisfied and am always looking to learn, progress and hone my skills in everything I do. As the off-season approaches, the car will be stripped down and gone over with a fine tooth comb as we look to improve in our 2nd season at Speedway660.
A huge shout out to my wife Lorraine, daughter Bella, and sons Tyler, Jakob and Dylan for their support. Lorraine is always a supportive and a driving force in everything I do. My brother-in-law Steven for coming out to ensure the car stays on the track, Ashley and the kids for coming to cheer us on.
Daniel from Atyeo Racing for helping get the car built this past winter and sharing his knowledge throughout the season. The rest of the gang from "the hood" that have helped out here and there when needed. The staff at the track and the safety crew in the infield and all the volunteers that make race days happen. Jack and Alanna for their support and making sure I had decals on the car and many others!
Of course, the sponsors that help make my 2026 rookie season possible. I hope you'll all join me next year as we look to continue to improve and set our sights higher!

After the car getting wrecked at Monday's race, we spent the better part of the last 4 days pulling all the broken parts off and getting it put back together.
All that's left now is to break down a few tires, mount some rubber and a handful of test laps to ensure it's working as intended.
Won't be the prettiest car on the track but it'll do until it gets a face-lift this winter.
Come on out to Speedway 660 on Saturday for the last championship points racing event. "Night of Champions" will determine the final point standings and there will be an on-track autograph session! Races start at 2pm! Followed by the Labrador Trucking Enduro Clash 200 on Sunday!

Thank you to our sponsors!

Speed Weekend 2026 at Speedway 660 has come and gone. There was lots of rain, lots of sun, lots of laughs, lots of firsts and unfortunately, lots of cuss words.
On Saturday we were sneaking out for practice in sunny breaks. Heat #1 we started at the front and were able to create some breathing room and pull away from the pack as the cars behind us battled for position. This allowed us to snag our 1st heat race win.
Started pole for the feature but after one lap the rain had started again and we headed to the pits to wait it out. As the rain subsided, the track dried up enough for us to head back out again to try and get 40 laps in. A few laps in, we made a crucial mistake overdriviving a corner which allowed a few cars to slip past on the inside. With some driving adjustments, we were able to start gaining on P3 in every corner and posted our fastest lap of the year with a 17s flat but Mother Nature had other plans and on Lap 22, the race was called due to rain and we ended the Saturday feature with a 4th place finish.
Sunday we ended up getting rained out and the remaining races were pushed to Monday. We went out for the first two practices and the car was workin', beating the previous days personal best lap with a 16.9s. We parked the car for the remaining practices and waited for our heat race. Heat #1 had us starting at the front again and we were able to replicate Saturdays success and pick up our 2nd heat win of the season and weekend.
We were confident going into the feature that we could compete for a podium spot which is what we needed to stay in the hunt for RoY. After 260 feature laps, plus heats and practice, the track was a bit greasy but we were still confident. We started pole on the feature and sent it when the green flag dropped leading the first 21 laps until the 2nd place car dropped into the dirt going into turn 1 and slammed into the side of us turning the car sideways. Managed to save it but the damage was done. The front tires hit the lip of the asphalt sideways resulting in a bad right front hub bearing and a bent left front rim that had the tire going flat. We stayed out on the track, still holding on to 1st and hoping for a caution. Another lap around the track had the left front completely flat and the car plowing up the track out of the corner that allowed a few cars to slip past. As we came around to the front stretch a caution is thrown and the left front gave up on life and exploded, sending rubber flying everywhere. We raced to our pit while under caution and the fellas were already there waiting to throw a new tire on. (Extremely grateful for the group of fellas that came running as it wasn't a short run to my pit 🙌)
We got back out while still under caution, but also knowing there was still time to catch back up and we weren't finished....yet. We started working our way back up through the field when on Lap 30, a car decided putting the leader sideways in the middle of turn 1 & 2 with the field bunched up was a great idea and our hopes of staying in the RoY race came to a crashing halt! This was also a very experienced driver and everyone will have their own opinions on it but to me, it seemed intentional. It is what is and karma will find him eventually. With that, our feature ended with a broken subframe, axle, hub assembly, 2 control arms, torque strut mount and a bunch of body damage.
Huge shout out to our great friends Evan Gallon in the #9 from Gallon Racing for his feature win, Jeffrey O'Donnell in the #151 from J.O'D Performance #151 on his 2nd place podium and congrats to Avery Underwood in the #8 from Underwood Racing for his first podium finish in 3rd and wrapping up the RoY race! Congrats fellas!
We've got 1 race left on Saturday and were going to do everything we can to put the car back together and look for some redemption followed by an Enduro race on Sunday!
Massive thanks to Steven Faucher, Daniel Atyeo, Alex Puttock, Terry Lawson, Trae Clement, Ben Woodcock and any others that were in the crowd of fellas who came running to change the flat for me. My wife Lorraine and daughter Bella for always being there to support me. My stepson Jakob for coming up from NS to watch, help and mounting a few tires for me. Janice for always making sure we've got something to snack on and many others.
We're extremely grateful and thankful for our sponsors who help make all of this possible. Without them, we couldn't do what we do.

Goodluck to Little Ripper Racing and Atyeo Racing as they hit the track today Petty International Raceway!
Brantley looks to make a mark in his debut race in the Bando (Banjo) division and Daniel is looking to add another trophy to his collection in the street stock division! Wish we could be there!!
I believe there are a few more 660 cars making the trip down as well. Goodluck to Avery from Underwood Racing , Dustin Hamilton and any others that are making the trip down!
If you're looking to fill your evening with some great racing, head to Petty and cheer these fellas on!
