2003 Dodge 3500 5.9L Cummins came in for a transmission service... Looks like this 48RE is just about cooked. The fluid was jet black with a heavy metallic shimmer. Our recommendation will be to replace or rebuild this unit before it becomes a roadside failure.

I know my favorite but I'd like to see what you think.

This engine pic was found on Google and Gemini was used to do the paint ideas. Same setup though, 351w based stroker with a Holley Hi-ram.

What do you do when a radiator hose doesn't fit your water pump? Double stacked hole saws for the win.

Mike's 58T-Bird came in with an Edelbrock water pump and a lower rad hose dated 1975. I ordered a replacement hose from AC Delco and the hose wouldn't fit the pump inlet. In fact the OD of the hose matched the OD of the pump. With no other brands stocking a lower rad hose for this application I compared at least a dozen Ford FE lower rad hose specs and found they all list a 2 inch hose. I even ordered in a different pump, it was also too big, with an inlet that measuring just shy of 2.25".

We didn't have time to order a reproduction hose from a specialty supplier out of the US. In fact I wasn't entirely sure if a reproduction hose with factory markings would fit.

I double stacked my holes saws and used plenty of to machine down the OD of the pump inlet. The smaller hole saw centered the outer hole saw to safely cut down the OD. Once it was cut down I used my

The original brake pedal and booster on this 58 Thunderbird was setup with a 10:1 pedal ratio that yielded a soft pedal and poor braking with a dual master cylinder. This custom designed adjustable bell crank will allow for a combined pedal ratio of 4.5:1 or 5.5:1. Using an industry standard Corvette dual master cylinder and our custom S550 brake kit up front this old bird will stop on a dime.

This doesn't exist on the market for 50s Fords. All the aftermarket kits are targeted at manual brake cars.
