Well none of you guessed what was in the box and now they're fitted and ready for testing πŸ‘Œ

These gktech.com anti dive brackets should stop the nose diving so much under hard braking, without the need to bump spring rate or compression.

The hope is that this will help keep the rear more planted during that initial braking and turn in phase, not hard to remove if I don't like it πŸ€”

- Zip the 19mm's off from the original bracket.
- Remove the other LCA bolt (17mm) and swing the LCA out of the way
- Remove factory stud (15mm)
- Insert the bush spacer (unless you've gone spherical already).
- Fit new bracket with spacers above or below (location of spacers is what tunes anti-dive percent and I am trying 10% on a lowered car)
- Refit other LCA bolt
- You're done βœ…

Clears everything nicely.

Alignment next!

A mini milestone for the Crown last night, 50,000ks (20k in my ownership).

What a pleasure it's been, such a well rounded sedan, zero regrets 🫢

Yes, I did pull over to take this pic and yes Mrs No Crust asked if I was serious πŸ˜‚

I know I'm not the only snapping odometer pics, own up πŸ‘‡

So that 'quick alignment' has been even slower than anticipated, but I think we're making progress πŸ™ƒ

I've continued to chase rear grip and stability in this car the entire time I've owned it, and we've made some excellent progress, but I'm hoping we're about to take another step forward.

- Ride heights reset (with 1/2 tank of fuel and my ballast in the driver seat this time).
- Spring preloads all reset
- Some rake removed
- Droop is now even in the rear (it was not previously, sway bar end links removed, still to test with them connected).

I don't have easy access to corner weight scales so, no, it has not been corner weighted.

Next I'll do a quick droop test in the front, just to be sure, then throw the strings on it for a touch up. That gktech.com box is still there waiting to be fitted too - yes, it's suspension related πŸ€”

Oh, the other part I was hoping to see turned up, it's just a matter of if I have time to fit it 🀞

I'll just do a quick alignment I told myself...errrr 🫠

Well, two things, but I'm not sure they will both arrive in time for round two πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

So with the tyres swapped, the next question becomes, how much time, if any will they pick up at Winton?

Same size/compound and alignment specs as the posted lap, just fresher rubber.

I hear really mixed things about this so place your bets 🀝

Current PB is 1:35.02 and was set in round 2 of last season, which is what's next so hopefully weather is similar.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that does this πŸ˜…

I dropped this poor little inspection camera last week and since then it hasn't turned on. My view is if you think something is broken there's no harm in pulling it apart on the off chance you might be able to fix it or at least learn something.

In this case that tiny ribbon cable was fully disconnected and that's all it took to get this baby going again πŸ‘Œ

Surely I'm not alone.... πŸ™πŸ˜‚

I'm sure this is nothing, show me you STACKED wagons/sedans whatever πŸ˜‚

This week on *insert Bilbo meme* "Why shouldn't I make dumb stuff with my printer?" πŸ–¨οΈ

We've got a novelty number plate, because I got tired of looking at the empty space, and a snap fit wireless charger light cover bezel, because the nighttime disco annoyed me πŸ˜…

The plate is 275x120mm, with Aus bolt hole spacing of 210mm apart & M6, and made in such a way as to allow easy font/colour changes to suit whatever you wanna do - do read the descriptionβœ…

The light cover was made to suit a 99mm dia charger, linked in the description, but can be scaled easily to suit whatever, just watch out for the 10mm cut out where the cord goes if you're making big scale changsβœ…

Enjoy 🀝
