Taking a step back before it all went to Sh .
There was an enormous effort and help from a number of wonderful people to get to the round with the car in the best shape its ever been in.
The car had a complete fresh engine built in record time from round one and id really like to thank a number of people.
Kurt Macready for all your work looking into our engine issues and preparing the upgraded pieces to beautiful standard and in no time.
Bradley Sherriff from Racetech Performance for all your help sourcing parts in record time, thankyou so much for making it all happen and giving your time.
Colin from piston services for turning out new pistons in 2 weeks.
Kyle from Hi Octane Direct for getting me in all the parts i needed in super fast times.
Simon David Copping from automotive for getting the injectors cleaned and tested.
Motorsport Connections Australia for the quality hose, fittings and filters.
Chris Galano from Galano Engineering for the track support helping refine the car more and more. Looking forward to diving deeper into making her go faster as a whole.

but most of all thankyou Dad Graham Smith, you do so much for me and the car which would be impossible without you. I can never thank you enough for your work and dedication to making it happen.

The car looked fantastic under the lights and we had lots of people come up and say it looked mega in the night. The car was fast and on for a competitive weekend until the crash.

As my mate Garry Roberts says, 'what it could have done, isn't what it did' so onwards and upwards to have another go.

Devastating weekend for us that was looking so promising.
After such a huge amount of work and build up to the event it all came undone in the blink of an eye. The car had speed and felt strong with the suspension changes and was looking fantastic under lights in the night runs.
We had new tyres fitted for Saturday morning qualifying and went out with the intent of a front row start.
I spent two laps warming tyres as usual and set of on my first qually run. 280k into turn one and the initial turn in was great and gripped up well and then bang the tyre tore off the rim. I was a passenger from there just trying to get it to turn away from the wall and slow down but there was nothing i could do.
I don't understand why or how it has happened as we run higher pressures in qually than i start the races at. Nothing felt different or was done differently than normal.
The damage is extensive with chassis bars bent right back to the windscreen line, all the right hand front suspension points have moved or been torn out.
I'm ok just a sore and stiff back and neck and a few bruises.
Thankyou to the medical crew Sydney Motorsport Park for looking after me and all the competitors and friends who have reached out. Thankyou to my crew especially my Dad for dealing with the aftermath.
Repairing chassis and suspension fabrication isn't really our expertise so if anyone around the Parramatta area of Sydney has the skill and time to help out with fabrication, welding, scanning etc please reach out.
Dad has started stripping the front end and we will get it up on a flat steel table to measure and plot out suspension points.
Id say this is our year done as it certainly wasn't in the budget time or money wise.
Cant catch a break with this thing.

FANTASTIC NEWS
All three races to be live-streamed on Blendline TV this Saturday at the SMSP Day/Night Meeting. It’s a joint round with National and Victorian Sports Sedans, with the State of Origin trophy on the line. Over 30 cars will grid up for qualifying.

Not a great day for us unfortunately.
The car has overheating issues with the slower speed Winton circuit.
At Phillip island and Sydney Motorsport park with the higher speeds it sits at 80 degrees but here with lower air speed through the radiator the oil temps rise and takes the water with it.
We have tried a few things that slightly helped and have tried another thing for tomorrow.

We also had oil surge issues which the car has never had.

The sump has also developed a crack we are trying to temporarily fix.

Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

At least she looks awesome on track.
