Not a great day for us unfortunately.
The car has overheating issues with the slower speed Winton circuit.
At Phillip island and Sydney Motorsport park with the higher speeds it sits at 80 degrees but here with lower air speed through the radiator the oil temps rise and takes the water with it.
We have tried a few things that slightly helped and have tried another thing for tomorrow.

We also had oil surge issues which the car has never had.

The sump has also developed a crack we are trying to temporarily fix.

Thanks to Garry Roberts Graham Smith Ran Maclurkin for your help today trying to sort everything out.

Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

At least she looks awesome on track.
Thanks for the shot Terry

Sunday was a test day and it certainly lived up to its title. It was 'testing'
While the day went terribly it also meant we hopefully sorted all the bugs so we don't encounter them at Winton for round one of the National Sports Sedan Series with NSW Sports Sedans and Victorian Sports Sedan Championship May 1-3
We only managed 4 laps at the very end of the day when it was finally running right.
Thankyou as always to Dad Graham Smith and thankyou to Racetech Performance (Bradley) for finding one of our issues from his cozy little home in Tassy.
Thankyou to my wife and kids for putting up with my absence while we prepared the car.
The car hasn't had any performance upgrades over the break but has had some big safety upgrades with the fuel system. Thankyou to Kyle at Hi Octane Direct for the fuel system bits.
It also received a heap of maintenance to the torque tube which was about to explode if it did anymore laps as it was.
The exhaust manifold received some loving care from the guys at Exhaust Centre as it had more cracks than a Ford crankshaft.
Looking forward to Winton, hopefully no fires this time!

Exciting calendar ahead with a new addition today of a night race at Sydney motorsport Park. National Sports Sedan Series will look epic in the night.

2026 SERIES NOW FIVE ROUNDS!!!!
Good news! We have added a day/night round at Sydney Motorsport Park on June 19-20 to the 2026 calendar as the fifth round to our Series.

This works well between Winton in May and Muscle Car Masters in August and offers a new concept in racing under lights. A two day event, Friday is Practice, Saturday is qualifying and 3 races and will be a new concept untried at National level in our time. Cars are not required to have headlights as SMSP has excellent lighting around the track.

Rd 1 May 1-3 Winton Vic VSRS round 3 combined Vic & NSW

Rd 2 June 19-20 SMSP NSW NSW combined State round, day/night

Rd 3 August 28-30 SMSP NSW Muscle Car Masters (incl. Des Wall Cup)

Rd 4 October 2-4 The Bend SA The Bend Classic combined SA State round

Rd 5 November TBC Ph Island Vic Island Magic combined Vic State round

We currently have the other four rounds locked in, Island Magic date is yet to be 100% confirmed but likely to be end of November as previous.

Hi competitors and teams here is the proposed 2026 National Sports Sedan Series Calendar with four rounds confirmed.
The Island Magic date is yet to be set as it was clashing with a Supercars date change for Adelaide, and a fifth round is likely.
We have been working on a calendar for months, it’s a complicated process that starts at F1 and Supercars, then involves track/venues, event organisers, categories, Motorsport Australia, state clubs and many other aspects. The good news is you have a decent break now before racing commences and the rejuvenated Muscle Car Masters at SMSP will be a highlight event of the year including the Des Wall Cup.
The Island Magic round is also a feature event with TransAm now committing and live Broadcast on Kayo, SBS being arranged. The four confirmed rounds are combined with state Sports Sedan clubs and their individual Championships (Vic, NSW, SA) so we expect these events to be well attended in numbers.
This Calendar provides a platform for all level of entrants, at this stage in three different states, at four great tracks, catering for different levels of budget and as we experienced last year creates great camaraderie amongst all of us in the category.
Now get those race cars ready, and we will see you at Winton for Round One.
