The Red Car was out at the Old Petrie Town Steam Festival, it was a wet and miserable day, but still there was a good roll up of people, it was the first time the GT had ever been caught out in the rain, and we survived.

The Red Car was out today with the Studebaker Car Club of QLD. They were guests of the Military Jeep Club of Queensland and went on a fascinating tour of Brisbane and its hidden World War 2 bunkers and points of interest.

Beautiful day at Sandstone Point Wheels By The Water car show. The Red Car was on show and as usual a great turn out of unique classic cars, there was something there for everyone.

Decided to fit a pair of Anti Kink Hood Stiffeners from Classic Enterprises to the Hawks bonnet, I’ve seen some terrible accidents so better to be safe than sorry. Had to make some slight adjustments (see 1st drawing for comparison) to get them fit. Obviously she has had some repairs over the 57 years of its life and I had to work around these. Not wanting to risk damaging the paint by tack welding them in I used low profile Allen head bolts and nuts to secure them to the bonnet. Worked out fine now to remove and give them a coat of paint.

Nice morning out at with the Hawk at the Wheels of the Century Automotive Show 2018 at Redcliffe Showgrounds, always good to see another local Stude in the crowd.
