Calling all my fellow Rotaheads 👋🏼
Would love to get some feedback from you all on this R35 GTR Rotary coil kit we’ve had in the works for a while 🙏🏼
Over the last 30 years we’ve spent a lot of time on the test bench with rotary ignition systems figuring out what works & what doesn’t , and I can honestly say that for a smart coil set up on a rotary, these R35 coils outperform every other smart coil we’ve tested by a long way.
Instead of mounting the coils directly on the plugs, we’ve designed a bracket system to move them up on top of the engine.
A few key reasons why……
▪️Makes spark plug changes a sh*tload easier & quicker
▪️No more chassis rail clearance issues on cars with small engine bays
▪️Works with side-mount alternators, no problem
▪️Fits underneath all the different factory intake manifolds with no issues
▪️Fits all rotor housings (even old RX4 and 12A housings), not just later 13B knock-sensor housings
▪️Traditional spark plug leads make checking the timing simple — no more messing around trying to grab a signal from the ECU trigger wire
What’s in the kit?
✅ 4x Genuine Hitachi R35 coils
✅ Custom brackets
✅ Wiring connectors
✅ Bolt kit
✅ MSD plug lead set
They’ll work with any brand ECU, and scaling up for a 3 or 4 rotor setup is as simple as adding another pair of coils.
Each bracket is labelled with leading/trailing and wiring pin-outs, so it’s about as close to idiot-proof as you’ll get 🤪
We’ve had them running on cars for over 12 months now without missing a beat.
Looking at selling the full kit for $895.
I’m also considering adding an option for a pre-made wiring loom, to make life easier for guys installing it themselves and splicing into their existing ECU wiring.
Is that something people would be interested in?
Is there anything we’ve overlooked 🤷🏼♂️
Would love to hear everyone’s thoughts
Let me know what you think 🤔
