Maintenance is key, this car come in with a broken timing belt which unfortunately caused 14 out of the 16 rocker bridges to break and turn the exhaust cam into a 3 piece. 24 hours later the customer was shocked to see it running for half the cost he was expecting. Very lucky I was able to save the top end not always the case but this was a good scenario.

Another Harrop e-locker out the door, this one came in with a broken L*D hemisphere.
It’s now a locked center with a solid pinion spacer upgrade. I know I keep going on about quality but I can’t stress enough about using the right gear the first time.

This poor old girl came in very low on compression. Long story short the repairs were not worth the vehicles value being a petrol.
In the end, the customer decided to part ways as he has several other vehicles and this one doesn’t get used. Fast forward a bit of time and I’ve made him an offer and purchased a vehicle from him. 

Now there’s 3 options here let me know your thoughts.

#1 pull out the running gear rebuild the drive assembly and put it on the shelf as exchange units.

#2 fix it up over time and get it back on the road.

#3 build a BACK mechanical comp truck and enter into some events in 2027

Most are aware that your car has three basic filters. an oil filter the air filter and a fuel filter. What a lot of people seem to miss and unfortunately a lot of mechanics in the process is there’s a 4th common filter on nearly all modern vehicles which is called a cabin filter, this is the filtration for the air that you breathe through the air vents.

This one was picked up through a basic vehicle service. If the service is done correctly there is a lot more involved than just dropping oil and spinning on a new oil filter. It is a check all fluids, checking the condition of belts engine mounts. checking electrical systems like lights wiper operation horns safety checks of suspension tyres brakes the air conditioning system and its operation (hence why I found the cabin filter in this state)

My point here is be careful of who does your vehicles servicing and don’t be scared to ask questions to see if they’ve checked the basics.

Turns out you can polish a turd, If only they stayed looking this good 👌 new stickers looking on point thanks to JTH Signs. For some context on this bike. It’s been through the ringer. Last year was numerous events sweep riding and track marking. This year it’s done 2 rounds of the Australian hard enduro series in silver class. Definitely not a bike that’s been treated to the shed queen life. It’s been one of the most reliable bikes for the abuse I’ve put it through. Credit to the red white and orange KTM group the TBI variants are a solid unit .
