Chery recently held a competition to give its upcoming ute an Aussie name suitable for our market, and the eventual winner was Stockman.

The only catch? Back in 1979, Suzuki launched a ute version of the Jimny wearing the same name, with the name holding all the way through to the '90s.

After catching wind of the announcement Suzuki has had its say on the matter...
