In less than two weeks, the Fiji Regatta Week begin, and 2026 marks our first year as naming rights sponsor of the event. ⛵️🏝️

Running 15th-19th September, this is the 42nd edition of one of the South Pacific's most iconic cruising gatherings, made even more special this year by Musket Cove Resort and Marina's 50th anniversary.

For many bluewater cruisers and sailors, Regatta Week has earned its place as a genuine bucket list event, one whose reputation draws boats that have crossed oceans just to be there.

At its heart, the Regatta Week is about the people aboard the boats, the friendships that carry on year after year, and reconnecting in one of the most stunning settings the Pacific has to offer. That said, there is still plenty happening on the water too, from Hobie Cat racing to the Round Malolo passage race we sponsored last year, along with social events on and off the water throughout the week for all ages.

Jamie MacPhail and Michaela from our team will be there throughout the week, come say hello!

We are pleased to share that Island Cruising NZ has featured our article on the ‘Hidden risks of Urinating Overboard’.

It’s a topic that deserves more attention than it typically gets, we hope this helps prevent fatalities on the water.

Our team has been out and about in the yard at The Boat Works Gold Coast!

Whilst out meeting berth holders, James and Jade from our Gold Coast office had the pleasure of catching up with the captain of Rino, a beautiful 32.83m motor yacht by Italian shipyard Custom Line.

The Boat Works is one of the largest superyacht and boat refit, repair and storage facilities in the Southern Hemisphere, and home to our Queensland office.

If your boat is in for a refit or you are simply on-site, come by and say hello at The Boat Works! 👋

Is your vessel Spring ready? Here are 5 things to check to make sure your boat is!

🔹 Batteries:
Fully charge before reinstalling, check terminals for corrosion and grease them.

🔹 Diesel tank:
Diesel bug risk increases in winter, be sure to check the tank and change fuel filters. If in doubt, get the tank cleaned.

🔹 Cooling system:
Inspect all cooling hoses for cracks and make sure clamps are secure. Once the engine is running, check the exhaust straight away. Is water coming out? If not, switch off immediately and investigate.

🔹 Seacocks:
Before your slipping or crane appointment, check all seacocks and through-hulls while still on land. Are valves moving freely? Hoses intact and secure?

🔹 Anodes:
Replace anodes if unused recently. Forgotten or dissolved anodes cause damage that often only shows up much later.

🔸 What is the number one thing you always check before the season kicks off? Let us know in the comments below! 💬

Pantaenius Yacht Racing Image Award: It's All About Timing

Suellen Hurling (NZL) won last year's ‘Public Award’ with this incredible shot of Mattias Coutts and George Lee-Rush, captured during the PredictWind Moth World Championships in Auckland.

Suellen remembers positioning herself on the roof of the start/finish boat that day, aiming for a slightly higher vantage point. “It was the penultimate day of racing, and the breeze was in,” she recalls. With Mattias Coutts wearing the gold bib, she kept her eye on him throughout the race.

“And then it happened,” Hurling says. George (back) and Coutts (front) went into their gybes at the exact same moment, and she somehow captured both of them go in for their gybe. “They were flying at 30+ knots so it all happened so quickly,” she explains.

It remains, in her words, “my most favourite frame from the event.”

Alongside with Pantaenius has officially launched! 🎉

Last Friday night, almost 200 Pantaenius customers, partners and industry friends joined us at The Boat Works on the Gold Coast for our very first Alongside with Pantaenius event, hosted with our partners Sanctuary Cove Marina and The Boat Works Gold Coast.

Created to bring Australia’s marine community together and celebrate the relationships we’ve built over nearly 15 years in Australia. The evening was filled with great conversation, live music, drinks and plenty of familiar faces.

Guests enjoyed an impressive display of classic cars, along with the infamous Ansett Pioneer bus from the Gold Coast Motor Museum, adding a touch of Australian motoring nostalgia to the evening.

A huge thank you to Sanctuary Cove Marina and The Boat Works for partnering with us, to Carl from Aqualuma LED Lighting, and to everyone who came along.

It may have been our first Alongside event, but it certainly will not be our last!
