Idlers are nearing completion with all the machining now complete, hardware arrived and first stage of sanding/cleaning also completed.

They are scheduled to have the spacers welded this week and posted out the following week.

We have 2 making their way across to New Zealand from this batch, There are 2 spare idlers in this run so let us know if you been looking for something to address your belt slip.

Anyone that orders an idler will receive free shipping on any stocked item this is also extended to the the Bengineered 55mm pulleys, until the end of the month.
Free shipping will also be extended to anyone that has previously ordered an idler so send as a message if you would like to place an order.

Pulleys have arrived and majority of the spacers have also been machined!!!!!!!!!!

Machine time for the plates has been scheduled for next week, things are coming along quickly.

6 units have been spoken for, if you are interested in securing one let us know as there is still time.

Materials are coming in fast for the idlers!!!

Our design has been engineered to ensure zero flex and is a simple trouble free install unlike other designs.

Is a 20mm design overkill? we have not had a customer complaint, Failed part, flaw in manufacturing or removed a post to hide anything so.. Do it once do it right is the principle we look to follow.

20mm was selected for a solid reason and we stand by the design!!

Idlers are looking to be scheduled for production at the end of next week, if you are keen let us know so we can lock you in.

Our tried and tested design has had a small revision to the idler pulley location to further increase belt wrap on the supercharger pulley.
These idlers are 100% rock solid with no flex whatsoever.

Kit comes with the plate, pulley and all mounting bolts. Instructions can be supplied on request.

Our original design has been proven for over 10 years and are designed and made in Australia.

For anyone that orders an idler they will receive a discount code for free shipping on any other stocked items including the 55mm pulley from Bengineered.

Had a few requests asking for another batch of idlers to be made.

If there is enough interest ill do another run.

Who is keen on one?

Price will be around $350 - $380 depending on how many people want one.

One of the most asked questions we get for the 55mm pulley and our idlers is what belt length do I need.

The belt length will vary depending on many factors like balancer size, pulley sizes, cooler type, size and brand, If you have had
any machining done to the LIM, cooler or blower and if you run any kind of spacer plate like the mace insulators. This is just a
few items that can affect the length of the belt.

We have found the simplest way to accurately measure the belt size you will need is to use an old belt. We have seen many people
using different methods to measure belt length however this is the method we use.

1. Grab an old belt (needs to be longer than you will need which typically the stock belt) and measure its length with string.
2. Install this belt on the engine loosely placing it in the correct belt path.
3. A 2nd person will be needed to hold the tensioner back, you will then need to pinch out a section of belt using vice grips, clamp or similar.
4. Let the tensioner go and allow it to apply pressure on the belt.
5. Check tensioner is sitting in the correct position as indicated by the marking on its face.
6. If the tensioner is too loose repeat steps 3, 4 and 5 until the desired tension is achieved.
7. Remove belt and measure the section that has been pinched out
8. Subtract the length of belt that has been pinched out from the total measurement in step 1.
9. Order the replacement belt in the length that you have determined.

Example.
If your stock belt is 8PK2100 and you pinch out 200mm of length you will need a 8PK1900 as the last 4 numbers is the belt length in mm

A example picture can be seen below as the desired belt length needed to be determined due to power steering pump being removed for an Astra electric setting conversion.

These pulleys have seen in the range of 10 to 20hp gain at the wheels when dropping from a 58mm pulley in two separate builds. The first 55mm pulley prototype went into real world testing more than 12 months prior to ensure they performed as desired, This was to ensure that the deign, material and coating was going to last and perform as expected.

The prototype 55mm pulley was also accompanied by a smaller pulley that has not been released or until now mentioned. Its measurements did start with a 4 however....
This pulley will not be available to the public so if your looking for one of the cheapest performance upgrades the 55mm pulley is hard to go past.

The 55mm pulley is recommended for use with a intercooler system capable of handling the heat generated which is often an external W2A or A2A system however, reports back from customer with under blower coolers and E85 note the low end torque and power really wakes up the car/Ute.

Belt wrap on the blower pulley is Key in getting the most of this pulley. The L67fab idler is recommended to ensure you get the most from your setup and is proven to perform in various builds since the original porotype in 2016.

Received a last minute request to replace a shaft seal on a YT snout last week with the owner hoping to have it back before Christmas.

We don't typically offer snout rebuilding as a service but given the late time of year and the owner exhausting most options to have it rebuilt we where happy to help.

Snout arrived and we jumped straight on it looking to have it posted back the same day only to find that the seal had been replaced before. The seal used was the incorrect type which caused some damage to the sealing area and front bearing with the bearing needing replacement.

As is the case we had high speed bearings instock for a factory snout and rear bearings for a YT snout but not the front bearing.

Owner was happy to wait the extra day to order in a bearing however this resulted in missing the postage cutoff for Christmas day.

End result was a rebuilt snout posted out express post on the 24th and returned to the owner on the 27th.

Gave it a quick clean and light polish to remove the grime that has built up over the years and it came up pretty good, definitely has some battle scars on it but it will live another day.

Many people like to knock the 55mm pulley saying that it simply doesn't work and they have done extensive testing. For what ever reason they chose to ignore the results from others or comment without actually doing any testing.

Fortunately some people do actually listen and look at results from people with similar setup to theirs or the setup they are looking to build.

The below dyno sheet shows very solid gains of between 10 to just shy of 20HP for majority of the power run.
Like we have said in the past the low down power increase of this pulley is something that really gives you a kick and has to be experienced to understand.
The Green line is a 58mm pulley with the Red being the 55mm pulley.

Yes peak power is only 3.4HP different and if you like to only look at peak HP and the minor drop in power for the final few hundred RMP you may be disappointed looking at the results but, if your combination can handle the heat generated the kick in the low end will quickly make you forget about only gaining 3.4HP in the top end...

These results are similar to those from Ace Performance Tuning which also returned around 2psi increase of boost and 20+HP gain

Boost has increased by around 2.5 PSI to top out at 19 PSI from a ported M90 with a bolt on ubend

You wont find an easier power upgrade to a pulley swap!!

Last idler out the door this year.

This idler was also shipped with a plate to relocate the coil packs. Its not a bolt on plate but was roughly cut to size and welded so that the customer can shape it to fit their particular build.
This plate is intended to be mounted on the side of the blower and depending on how its mounted the only changes to the wiring will be to untape the loom to reposition the dfi plug.

No that long ago we received a comment about how our idler plate being 20mm harvested a lot of the planets resources and theirs was made out of 12mm. While the comment didn't go on to say 20mm was excessive that seemed to be the point of the comment.

Some of you may remember this comment which can be seen in the attached screen shot that was taken at the time.
This comment appears to have been removed (not by us) and this is likely due to their testing showing that 12mm plate does bend due to the forces placed on the bracket.

Just goes to show that you really need to test products and its hard to take the word of some people.

Our V1 idler has been in use for around 6 years with the only change being the pulley replaced at the 4 year mark so it could be inspected and it still sits on the shelf as a spare should the need arise.

Not too sure if this is the final nail in the coffin for idlers made out of 12mm plate but a thicker material would likely be a good idea.

We are currently only have one idler left on the shelf however it is spoken for. If there is enough interest we will do another run however the minimum order would require 6 people.
If you are looking for an idler to increase belt wrap drop as a message .

2nd batch of idlers are nearly complete just waiting on the spacers to arrive which we are expecting this week.

If you are keen let us know as there is only a couple left in this batch and no plans on another run at this stage.

These will be complete ready to bolt on including instructions.
