Tassie’s unmistakable Green Hell Magno Mercedes-AMG G63 spotted at Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart over the weekend. Bold would be an understatement when describing this satin metallic green coloured BiTurbo V8 Geländewagen, but we applaud the owner for selecting an interesting colour over the all too common bland choices. Thanks to for the photo.

Spotted in Devonport recently, this striking Lotus Emira highlights the car’s gorgeous exterior design. Originally intended to be the British marque’s last ever internal-combustion engined vehicle, market trends have seen this plan shelved, with plug-in hybrid powertrains planned for future models. Nicely spotted, Cordell Richardson.

A stunning selection of Porsche GT cars and a McLaren 650S Spider spotted out enjoying last weekend’s unseasonably warm weather in the state’s North. The group included a vibrant Racing Yellow 991 911 GT3 which is a new arrival to the state, a brand new 992.2 GT3 and one of a small handful of locally delivered 992 911 GT3 RS. What interesting cars have you spotted out and about recently?
Thanks to Mat Jomon for the photos.

A Lamborghini Huracán Performante finished in striking ‘Grigio Titans’ spotted on Hobart’s Constitution Dock this afternoon. Wearing newly registered Tasmanian plates, it joins at least one other Performante in the state which is identically specified, but wears a different design of factory wheels. Lamborghini released many iterations of the Huracán during its eleven year production run, including the wild STO and Sterrato from more recent times, however the Performante remains something of a high water mark for the model, offering the most complete package and the best performance figures of the entire range. Exceptional spot, Joshua Bodycoat.

A vibrant McLaren Artura spotted in a Hobart CBD carpark recently. As McLaren’s first series-production hybrid, the Artura marks a significant shift for the company as they and their competitors from Ferrari and Lamborghini lean heavily into hybridisation, chasing increased performance while simultaneously adjusting to meet ever tightening emissions targets. Fear not however, as the Artura’s 120-degree 3.0L twin-turbo V6, while small, is still potent. Combined with the axial flux e-motor mounted between it and its 8-speed dual-clutch transmission, it’ll produce 500kW & 720Nm; absurd figures for a car weighing less than 1500kg. Other differences between the Artura and prior McLarens include its use of an electronic differential and a new design of rear suspension. Joyfully, as with other McLarens, hydraulic-steering remains, making the brand one of, if not the only sports car manufacturer to still offer it on new cars. Thanks to for the photo.

A stunning Aston Martin DB12 spotted on Sandy Bay Road on Friday evening. The latest iteration in Aston’s illustrious line of models to wear the DB moniker, there’s little question that the DB12 is the best yet. Refinement, performance and technology have all been turned up a notch resulting in drastic improvements over its predecessor. Up front you’ll find a 4.0L BiTurbo V8 (borrowed from Mercedes-AMG) which produces a massive 500kW & 800Nm, fed to the rear wheels via the brilliant 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. So far we’ve only seen one other DB12 locally, that being a convertible or ‘Volante’ variant, with this coupé a seemingly recent arrival. Thanks to for the awesome spot.

It’s been a while since we last featured this lovely Porsche 911 (991.2) GT3 finished in ‘Crayon’. One of two such examples that reside in the state’s South, the other is a Touring model and can easily be differentiated by its lack of a rear wing.
With many cars such as this we often bemoan that their spectacular high-revving, naturally-aspirated engines have been replaced by more powerful, yet less visceral turbocharged units. Not so with the GT3. The same 4.0L unit found here in the 991.2 can still be found in the latest 992.2 model, and remains as one of just a small handful of such engines that are still used in modern European performance cars in 2026. Brilliant spot in Battery Point this morning,

A stealthy satin black first-generation Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder spotted in Richmond on Sunday morning. This example is equipped with the somewhat rare and highly desirable gated 6-speed manual transmission, an excellent pairing for its glorious sounding 5.0L naturally-aspirated V10 engine.

A wild looking Dodge Viper GTS spotted in Richmond this morning among a few other interesting vehicles. This 1997 example is a second generation (SR II) Viper, introduced in 1996 with a raft of improvements over the somewhat agricultural first-generation. Shortly after the arrival of the updated car, the GTS was unveiled, offering a coupe version of the Viper for the first time alongside the existing RT/10 targa top model. Both were powered by the mammoth 8.0L naturally-aspirated V10, outputting 340kW and 665Nm to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. We rarely get to see these classic American beasts locally, but are always glad when we do.

A car we tend to see quite few of these days, this lovely original Honda NSX was spotted in North Hobart on Sunday evening. By today’s standards, the performance of the NSX’s 3.0L naturally-aspirated V6, which outputted 188kW & 284Nm, seems incredibly modest. Yet at the time this placed it among some fairly illustrious competitors. More than anything however, the NSX is remembered for bringing reliability and daily usability to the supercar. Awesome find,
