Well… KATANNING happened. 😂🔥
There is footage to come, but here’s the short version of how my 317,000km engine finally decided it had suffered enough. Yes...it died.
First skid out, came out strong… then I promptly ran out of talent. 😂 That’s what Katanning was for though. Test the car. Test me. Find out which one breaks first.
First run ended with a coolant cap/condom popping and covering me in glycol. Fixed it, bled it, back out.
Second skid was better, but she got hot again and shut down.
Third skid at night was an absolute BBQ show 🔥 Got lost in my own smoke, car shut off again, ANOTHER coolant condom popped, and I got to experience the prestigious walk of shame off the pad. 😂
Then she REALLY didn’t want to start.
40 minutes, fresh plugs and some questionable optimism later… she fired.
So naturally, I lined up for skid number four.
Driving down to the pad, she shut off again. Got her restarted, gave it two stabs of throttle and heard the unmistakable sound of metal making passionate love to itself.
Key OFF. 😂
And that was that.
The sump now has a connecting rod proudly hanging out the side of it. 💀
317,000km.
4 years of abuse.
14psi down its guts.
I genuinely can’t complain. 😂🔥
Videos coming… and trust me, the footage tells the story WAY better.
Big thank you to:
Danielle my beautiful amazing Fiancè who came, supported and was my cheer squad all night.
Jason, Scott, Dan, Jacob & Ethan... you are all bloody legends in all the help you gave to keep the triton alive.
I had a blast, laughed, relaxed, cried and will do it all over again.
So whats next? FRYTON is parked up untill I get time to pull the engine out but just know...there is a spare one ready to go ;)
