🔧🚐 THE SMALLEST FAULTS CAN CAUSE THE BIGGEST HEADACHES! 💪

Another interesting diagnostic job through the workshop at Active Hydraulics & Mechanical!

This diesel engine had us investigating its EGR and vacuum control system, where even a small leak can create major performance problems.

Rather than throwing parts at the problem, we got stuck into some proper fault-finding! 🔍

🔧 Our diagnostic process included:

✅ Inspecting the EGR system and associated components
✅ Checking vacuum hoses and connections
✅ Using specialist smoke-testing equipment to investigate potential leaks
✅ Identifying damaged hose sections requiring attention
✅ Working through the system to narrow down the source of the fault

💨 Why does it matter?

A small vacuum leak can interfere with engine control systems and potentially contribute to poor performance, fault codes and inconsistent engine operation.

At AHM, we believe in diagnosing the problem before replacing parts unnecessarily.

Whether it’s a tricky electrical fault, diesel performance issue, EGR problem or something that has another workshop scratching its head, we’re always up for a challenge!

🔧💪 OLD HOSES OUT, NEW GATES HOSES IN! 💪🔧

Another job completed at Active Hydraulics & Mechanical!

Sometimes it’s the components you don’t see that can cause the biggest headaches!

These old hoses had certainly seen better days, showing signs of age, wear and deterioration.

Rather than waiting for a failure, we’ve replaced them with quality Gates hydraulic hoses and fittings, manufactured to suit the application.

✅ Old, deteriorated hoses removed
✅ New Gates hoses supplied and assembled
✅ Quality fittings matched to the application
✅ Helping improve reliability and reduce the risk of unexpected breakdowns

🚜 From agricultural machinery and earthmoving equipment to trucks, trailers and industrial hydraulics, we’ve got you covered!

At AHM, we have the equipment to manufacture hydraulic hoses in-house, including hoses up to 2-inch, 6-wire.

Whether it’s a planned replacement or an unexpected breakdown, we’re here to help keep your equipment working.

🚗🔧 FORD EXPLORER – THERE’S MORE TO A SERVICE THAN JUST AN OIL CHANGE! 🔧🚗

Another Ford through the workshop at Active Hydraulics & Mechanical, and this one is a great example of why regular servicing and thorough inspections matter!

🔧 Here’s what we found:

🛢️ Heavy oil sludge and contamination – Thick deposits inside the oil filter housing highlight why regular oil changes and correct maintenance are so important.

🌬️ Cabin filter well overdue! – Packed with dust, leaves and debris. A blocked cabin filter can restrict airflow and affect your air conditioning performance.

🔩 Engine air filter inspection – Comparing old and new filters shows just how much dirt your engine’s filtration system can collect.

🔍 Underbody inspection – Checking suspension, steering and other critical components for wear, damage and potential safety concerns.

💪 At AHM, we don’t believe in simply changing your oil and sending you on your way.

We take pride in looking over the entire vehicle, identifying potential problems and helping our customers avoid expensive repairs down the track.

🚙 From everyday family vehicles and 4WDs to commercial fleets and heavy diesel machinery, we’ve got you covered!

❄️🔧 AIR CONDITIONING NOT COOLING? WE FIND THE PROBLEM!

Another interesting A/C diagnostic job completed at Active Hydraulics & Mechanical! 💪

This Ford Everest came into our workshop with an air-conditioning system that wasn’t doing its job.

With a temperature reading of 34.4°C, something clearly wasn’t right! 🥵

Rather than simply regassing the system and sending the vehicle on its way, we got to work finding the actual problem.

Using our specialised 95% nitrogen / 5% hydrogen forming gas and electronic hydrogen leak detection equipment, we were able to trace the leak through the vehicle’s interior air vents, pointing towards a leaking evaporator within the dashboard.

🔍 Why is this important?

Some refrigerant leaks are extremely difficult to locate, particularly when they’re hidden deep inside the dashboard.

Our specialised leak detection equipment allows us to investigate these hard-to-reach areas without immediately pulling the entire dashboard apart.

At AHM, we offer:

✅ Automotive A/C diagnostics and repairs
✅ Advanced hydrogen leak detection
✅ Refrigerant recovery and regassing
✅ A/C pressure testing
✅ Evaporator, condenser and compressor repairs
✅ Air conditioning for light vehicles, 4WDs and heavy machinery

A regas might get your A/C cold again temporarily, but finding and repairing the leak is what matters!
