After a few years away from running my own business, the pull to build something meaningful returned.

I’ve learned a lot from my time in the UK and from great mentors in other industries , , . But it was settling into life here in Mackay, working with Glenn at , that gave me the clarity I needed.

I saw the opportunity — and the need — for locals to take more control of their energy instead of just exporting it for pennies.

So I started Aussie Grid.

We’re building a community Virtual Power Plant in Mackay so households with solar and batteries can work together, reduce waste, and lower their power bills through local coordination and smart technology.

Here’s where we’re at:

✅ Fully insured

✅ Tesla Fleet API integration underway
✅ Sungrow developer integration underway

We’re starting with a small pre-pilot group in Mackay over the coming weeks.

This phase is focused on reading data from a handful of systems so we can properly test and build the tools before opening it up.
After that, we’ll move into a proper 90-day pilot with a small group of households.

The goal is simple: help Mackay locals get as close to a $0 power bill as possible while making our community more energy resilient.
