๐โ๏ธWhy Changing Your Differential Oil Is Important โ๏ธ๐
Your vehicleโs differential works hard every time you drive, transferring power to the wheels and allowing them to turn at different speeds when cornering.
Differential oil (diff oil) lubricates and protects the gears and bearings inside the differential. Over time, this oil can break down and become contaminated with metal particles, dirt and moisture, reducing its ability to properly protect these components.
What Happens If You Donโt Change Your Diff Oil?
Old or contaminated diff oil can lead to:
* Increased friction and heat
* Premature bearing and gear wear
* Whining, humming or grinding noises
* Damage to internal differential components
* In severe cases, complete differential failure โ resulting in a costly repair or replacement
Vehicles that tow, carry heavy loads, travel off-road or regularly encounter water and mud can place even greater stress on their differentials and may require more frequent servicing.
