💜 WE’RE WALKING FOR EPILEPSY! 💜

This October, the WeCare4U Team is pounding the pavement for Walk for Epilepsy 2026 — walking, running and riding our way towards 100km over 25 days! 👟🚶‍♀️🏃‍♂️🚴‍♀️

We’re taking on the challenge to help raise awareness, build understanding and support the important work of the Epilepsy Foundation.

Our fundraising goal is $1,000, and we’d love your help getting there! Every donation, big or small, helps make a difference for people living with epilepsy and their families.

Our team will be clocking up kilometres alongside participants, with each other or out on their own!

🌿 MEET THE TEAM | HOLLY

Hi, my name is Holly!

I have worked in healthcare since graduating high school, with a background in disability support and clinic nursing, and now I’m lucky enough to be working with this amazing company.

Every day I wake up and come to work excited for the day ahead. I have never felt more at peace or more in my element than I do when I’m helping others reach their goals and having a laugh while we do it. My favourite part of the job is knowing that every day is different and exciting.

Outside of work, I enjoy going for walks, heading to the gym, reading a good book, cuddling my cat and doing anything that involves spending time with my family. They are my rock and what keeps me going.

I grew up in Bairnsdale, with a little hiatus on the Gold Coast enjoying the sunshine in my early 20s, but nowhere feels more like home than right here.

Our participants had an absolutely amazing day at Coonawarra Farm Resort full of adventure, laughs and smiles all round!

🌿 MEET THE TEAM | AMY

This week, we’d love to introduce Amy, one of our wonderful Disability Support Workers here at WeCare4U Services.

Amy is a local Bairnsdale mum to four boys and has been working as a support worker for the past four years. She loves helping participants work towards their goals, build independence and live happy, fulfilling lives.

Outside of support work, Amy has a long background in health and fitness and loves keeping active and spending time outdoors. When she’s not working, you’ll often find her camping, fishing and enjoying time with her boys.

Amy is passionate about the work she does and looks forward to many more years supporting people to achieve what’s important to them.

We’re very lucky to have Amy as part of the WeCare team!

🌿MEET THE TEAM | ELISA

Hi, I’m Elisa! 👋

I’ve lived in Nicholson since 2001 with my husband, Ged, and our two boys, Max and Will.

My journey into disability support became very personal when Max was diagnosed with Asperger’s at four years old. It opened my eyes to both the challenges and the joy that can come with supporting someone with a disability.

After many years in nursing, I returned to study in 2016 as an Education Support Worker and now work part-time at the Specialist School. I’m passionate about inclusion, helping people build confidence and supporting them to be as independent as possible.

I joined WeCare4U in 2023 and really enjoy being able to combine my healthcare background, disability experience and love of connecting with people.

I bring a sense of fun, understanding and kindness to each day, and I’m always happy with a good coffee, a piece of cake and a great book!

🌿🐴 WeCare4U Team Connection Circle

At WeCare4U Services, we believe that providing great support starts with looking after the people who provide it.

Alongside ongoing training and team development, our Connection Circles with Thrive Beyond Care give our team the opportunity to step away from the everyday demands of their roles, reconnect with one another and simply enjoy being together.

Our most recent evening at the Equine Therapy Farm was exactly that, beautiful surroundings, horses, warm blankets, plenty of laughs, a little creativity and lots of genuine connection.

There was no agenda and no training session, just time to slow down, have some fun and strengthen the relationships within our team.

We are incredibly proud of the culture we continue to build at WeCare4U. We want our staff to feel supported, valued, heard and connected, because when our team is happy, confident and well supported, they are able to bring their very best to the people we support every day.

A huge thank you to Lisa from Thrive Beyond Care for creating another beautiful Connection Circle for our team. 🔥

🌿 MEET THE TEAM | JESSICA

This week, we’d love to introduce Jessica, our Administration Assistant here at WeCare4U Services.

Jessica works behind the scenes in an important role that helps keep our service organised and running smoothly. Her role includes staff education and training, rostering, approving timesheets, and maintaining staff compliance records to ensure company policies and standards are being met.

She plays a valuable part in supporting our team and helping keep the day-to-day operations of WeCare4U Services on track.

Outside of work, Jessica is a busy mum to Amber (17) and Jordan (13), and partner to Mark. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves a good concert weekend in Melbourne.

Born and raised in Bairnsdale, Jessica has lived here all her life. She’s an Ed Sheeran fan and loves anything Mexican or Italian!

Jessica’s organisation, reliability and support are an important part of our team, and we’re very lucky to have her at WeCare4U Services.

Sometimes the little things can make the biggest difference.

While Julie has been in hospital, her support worker Lu brought along a very special visitor, Julie’s much-loved dog, Chloe.

A beautiful moment that brought comfort, smiles and a little piece of home to Julie during her stay.
