I would not be opposed to this and already film myself and my students driving, upon agreement. Some do not want to be filmed. What are your thoughts on this?

Too often, I see cyclists not making themselves visible.

As a driver, I have my headlights on low beam - rain, hail or shine!

During the day is not a requirement and often not seen as necessary, but it's definitely stopped several collisions from happening.

In my 11 years on the roads teaching people to drive, we've never had a serious collision, and I swear it's because of our headlights being on all the time.

Same when I cycle, I have a front and rear light on, day and night.

I also wear a high visibility vest and have a made up number plate all with my branding and website so people can hold me accountable if necessary.

Reflectors and lights can make all the difference when you're riding at night. Always make sure you're visible to other road users in low light conditions for your safety and theirs.

Would sending these drivers to a speed awareness course help. whereby they are educated on the relationship between speed and stopping?

I work with a company delivering a road safety program to secondary schools for young drivers where we demonstrate braking distances from 40, 60 and sometimes 80 km/h.

The students are shocked at how long it takes a vehicle to stop from 40 and that's with 0 reaction time!

Education seems to be completely ignored in this country, we hand out drivers licences too easily and drivers are rarely taught how to drive, they are just taught to pass the test, which does not prepare a driver for life.

Considering Victoria is "the education state," it would make sense to provide better education and licencing when it comes to driving.

Anyway, good work Victoria Police! It's very sad to see the disrespect from these drivers in a school zone with children and a crossing supervisor who is highly visible.

I teach people to drive daily and we are literally on the speed limit and get tailgated!

We even push my vehicle past the speed limit to around 3 km/h over due the speed discrepancy with my vehicle and we still get tailgated.

This is a massive problem in our country and one of the main reasons why people crash.

There is literally no excuse to drive so closely. Even if someone else is driving slowly in front of us, we are not going to drive closer.

We need time and space to react and slow down to avoid a crash.

In Victoria, it's a rule to keep a safe distance.

Besides the rules, it should just be in our driving culture not to drive so closely, but it's sadly not. :(

This comment from a regular supporter on YouTube sums up why we are probably seeing no improvement on our roads with road users...

"You're not seeing an improvement because for every instructor who cares about creating safe drivers, you get multiple who only care about their student passing the test. The government also continues to breed resentment by creating new rules, selectively enforcing the rules, increasing fees, neglecting roads, increasing fines, lowering speed limits, and above all, not caring about actual driver training. The government literally thinks that if you past their tests, you're a safe driver. The system needs fixing."
