The full front end has to come off to get to the timing belt kit on these. It looks dramatic, but that's how the job gets done.

While it was in, we also sorted the brakes.

A timing belt is one job you don't want to put off. If it goes, the engine usually goes with it.

Volkswagen Golf R Wagon Wolfsburg Edition in for a Post Purchase Service check

During the service we found oil leaks from the upper timing cover seals and cam magnet seals, plus a coolant leak from the oil filter housing and oil cooler. We replaced the relevant gaskets and seals to fix all of them.

What we did:
✅️Engine service with VW 504/507 spec oil and a Mann filter
✅️DSG service with Motul DCTF and a Mann filter
Haldex service with genuine fluid, including a filter clean
✅️NGK spark plugs
✅️Brake fluid flush with ATE SL6

Just bought a car that was "freshly serviced"? We see it all the time. A lot of pre sale services are just an oil and filter change, and the logbook items get skipped. The book gets stamped, but the work wasn't done to spec, and that can cost you down the track.

Don't guess. Book in a post purchase service and know exactly what you've bought.
