Getting the XD FrontUp ready for formal

Finished product
1HZ-Turbo spec engine fitted with a Diesel Central pump and a Garrett turbo.
Noticeable difference in response and good egt's with 20psi on tap.
Best of all nice clean and very little soot which is 👌
Engine bay received a few improvements and wiring tidy up.
Happy customer

Value in the genuine parts fitted last time.

Watch this space.

Old tired boosted 1Hz out fresh Turbo spec going back in.
A few issues found during removal like clutch fork not fitted correctly which has worn the pressure plate fingers.
Wiring issues will be repaired or replaced.
Tail shaft uni's not aligned correctly flogged out splines.
And that dual battery wiring 😔really needs attention.

On the subject of carb rebuilds. Vacuum leaks are a real pain and will probably be the number 1 cause of any issues.
They can be anywhere from the back of the valve to the top of the carb. Intake gaskets can and will deteriorate, hoses split and leak and fittings can crack.
The photo below is a demon carb they have 2 vacuum hose fittings on the base and 1 doesn't always seal on the mating face.
Always the little things catch you out.

Done a few 1HDT engines. One of these engines is fitted with a G-Turbo and power is awesome even with a std pump tuned on the road.

Due to an unfortunate injury work has been slow.

Have a XR250 carb rebuild to finish off.

Another 1HZ Turbo spec engine and a 460 Big Block Ford on the engine stand will stick some more photos up in the following weeks.
