No workbench? The recycling bin will do.

Full swing ahead getting the #36 ready for the 2026/2027 CanningVale Toyota Late Model Series.

Plenty of late nights ahead cutting, measuring and fabricating to get this car back where it belongs. Every panel gets us one step closer to being back on track.

Sometimes you’ve just got to make do with what you’ve got! 💪🏁

🚑 HERNE HILL HOSPITAL DISCHARGE NOTICE 🚑

Patient: Bassanelli Motorsport #36

After undergoing extensive reconstructive surgery at Herne Hill Hospital under the care of Dr Jason Oldfield and the specialists at Redline Racecars & Rollcages, we’re pleased to announce the patient has been discharged.

Condition on admission:
☠️ Bent
☠️ Broken
☠️ Fighting for its life

Condition on discharge:
✅ Chassis repaired
✅ Vital signs stable
✅ Back on all four wheels
✅ Expected to return to full racing duties

Doctors have advised a gradual return to competition, although the patient has already expressed a desire to be sent flat out into Turn 1.

Ongoing concerns include:
⚠️ Tyre addiction
⚠️ Excessive fuel consumption
⚠️ Chronic speedway dependency
⚠️ Severe damage to owner’s bank account

Special thanks to Jack Oldfield for the challenging games of chess during hospital visits. While the patient may have survived the surgery, the same can’t be said for some of the chess pieces.

Patient #36 has officially been released back into the community and is expected to resume causing chaos at a speedway near you soon.

Patient Update 🚑🏥

After a rough season and a couple of run-ins with the fence, the #36 Barry Wright Icon has officially been loaded into the ambulance and is on its way to the Herne Hill Hospital for some much-needed treatment.

Chief Surgeon Jason Oldfield from Redline Racecars & Rollcages has accepted the case and will be assessing the extent of the injuries before beginning reconstructive surgery.

The patient is currently stable, although suffering from a snapped rear chassis, fuel cell trauma and general speedway-related injuries.

A full recovery plan will be announced once the medical team has completed their assessment.

Thanks in advance to Jason and the crew at Redline Rollcages for bringing the old girl back to life.

The 2025/26 season has come to an end and what a year it’s been.

In my rookie Late Model season, the goal was simply to learn, improve and gain as much experience as possible. To finish the season 14th in the Pro Dirt Series Late Model points standings despite missing 3 meetings and to be crowned 2025/26 Development Series Champion is something I’m incredibly proud of.

There were plenty of challenges throughout the season, from crashes and mechanical issues to learning a completely different style of racing, but there were also some great moments along the way, including an Albany Speedway podium finish and strong results throughout both the Pro Dirt Series and Development Series.

Looking back at where we started compared to where we finished, the progress made throughout the season has been huge. There is still plenty to learn, but that’s what makes these cars so challenging and rewarding to race.

Now it’s time to rebuild, regroup and get ready for the 2026/27 season.
