Round 2 of the TA2 Racing Australia Series at Queensland Raceway is done and dusted.
We’ve been a little slow to post from the weekend as we’ve been enjoying some much needed family time after a massive few days at the track. But this result definitely deserves to be written about, because we couldn’t be prouder of what this team achieved.
The combination of Ben Gomersall and Will Davison delivered another sensational drive in the second Enduro for the #32 UNIT Racing Mustang.
After strong individual races on Sunday, the boys lined up P4 for the feature Enduro race. In an action-packed race with a fast and clean pit stop from the crew, the #32 fought hard all afternoon to bring home P3 in the race and an incredible P3 overall for the weekend.
This result now sees Ben sitting 4th overall in the TA2 Championship heading into the next round, a fantastic turnaround after the engine troubles that impacted Round 1 earlier in the season.
Another great result from the weekend came with the #76 Perth Forklifts Camaro of Clint Rayner and Dion Jarvis. Starting from P15 after solid individual race results, the pair both put together strong stints in the Enduro and at one stage were knocking on the door of the top 10 in a stacked field of talent.
Bringing the car home in P13 for the second Enduro was a commendable effort considering the calibre of drivers competing across the weekend. The team also achieved an outstanding 2nd overall in the Masters class for the weekend, another result the whole crew can be incredibly proud of.
To come away with trophies from a weekend like that, against a field packed with big names, is a huge result for our team. We’re extremely proud of our drivers, the cars, and every single person involved behind the scenes who made it happen.
A huge thank you to the entire team for all of their hard work throughout the weekend, along with all of our supporters, partners and everyone cheering us on trackside and online. Bring on the next one 👊🏁
