New Livestock Operator Role
Mixed Farming Enterprise – Long-Term Opportunity
Kilrush Family Trust is seeking a motivated and experienced Livestock Operator to join our progressive, family-operated mixed farming enterprise in newly created, long-term role based on the outskirts of Cootamundra, NSW. Our established business operates across two properties near Cootamundra and Harden, encompassing approximately 2,500 acres of wheat and canola and 6,500 second-cross ewes with our main focus on prime lamb production.
This role has a primary livestock focus; at times the role will work collaboratively across enterprises during peak and busy periods (e.g. seeding and harvest). This is a hands-on leadership role suited to experienced operators who are ready to take ownership and responsibility within a supportive, forward-thinking business.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Sheep husbandry and livestock handling
• Lambing supervision and animal health programs
• Feeding and stock management
• Fencing and water infrastructure maintenance
• Accurate record keeping (AgriWebb)
• Assisting with livestock planning and stock movements
• Supporting cropping operations during seeding and harvest
Applicants must:
• Have a minimum of 3+ years’ livestock experience
• Working dog/s
• Truck licence – HC
• Demonstrate competency across both cropping and livestock operations
• Be physically fit and capable of hands-on work
• Show initiative, reliability, and strong communication skills
• Be committed to maintaining a safe work environment
• Hold Australian work rights
