There are lots of ways to refurbish headlights.
whether you polish or seal with a clearcoat there are pros and cons to both.

The plastic that headlights are made of is highly susceptible to the destructive capabilities of ultra violet rays which is what makes lights go dull and sometimes yellow.

Luckily it’s like skin and can be taken back to a like new finish once again, which brings us to the grand debate. To seal with clearcoat to to polish and ceramic coat?

Clear coat when applied properly can well outlast the vehicle it’s applied to, The downside being if it doesn’t hold up to the sun it will peel and crack leaving a nasty finish that is very difficult to remove.

Polish and ceramic coat when done correctly looks just like new if not better sometimes. The downside to this is it requires maintenance and sometimes re doing if you let it get back to the state it started in.

We at Drive-Clean prefer the Sand-Polish-Protect method as it is very easily repeated should the haze come back due to lack of maintenance.

And update on one of the drive clean projects!

Our little BMW had taken a turn for the better after sitting for nearly a decade and a half.

Now it’s nice a tidy it’s ready for a new fuel system and to be driven in the warmer months yet to come.

Today marks an exiting day for Drive-Clean.

A true BARN-FIND in need of some TLC, we have purchased a 1980 BMW 323i 5 speed in Alpine white over blue interior. The car comes in 100% factory.

It has been sitting since 2006 which marks 15 years undercover. Surprisingly it has kept up quite well with only a handful of minor spots needing some paint.

Watch this space for updates on the progress of this 80s masterpiece!

We are back after a small break and head first into a full detail.

Today we had a 2019 VX prado in for.

Decontamination wash.
Single stage polish.
2 stage glass clean and polish.
Engine bay detail and dress.
Full vaccume, wipe down and dress.
The wheels were treated to a decontamination scrub and dressing also.
To top it off we have the baby seats a go over as well as a full leather clean and condition.

This is one slick Cruiser again.

A special one in last night for a tidy up before it gets muddy once more at the Rally of Canberra in a few weeks!

The car was brought in for a Sticker/Residue removal, full vaccume and wipe down,dust removal, window treatments and seat shampoo.

Gotta love the smell of race fuel and lavender scented upholstery shampoo 👌

The car will be rocking a new livery including the New and Improved Drive-Clean decals.

2021 is upon us now and we are proud to say that this year will be the year that Drive-Clean truly begins to flourish.

This year we will be overhauling the workshop and getting into some cool restoration projects.

for those that like barn find and classic car details we have a few in the pipeline so stay tuned and thanks for the ongoing support!

Some pictures of a classic and ultra rare Alpina BMW we detailed a little while ago now. This vehicle came out of a long hibernation and was treated to the works paint restoration and protection and a top to bottom tidy up.
