Nearly 3weeks ago, On the 9/1/26 our whole life changed and all it took was 15mins 😢thankgod Paul, myself, the kids and all the animals are fine but that day we will never forget, we still have no power to the house, the kids and l have stayed in every motel in cobram as well as racv, never in a million years did l think the start of 2026 would be like this, this year was going to be a special one for me and Paul after 23yrs we were getting married on the 21st Feb but unfortunately we now have to postpone that date as my dress was smoke damaged and we are needing to focus on getting back to some normality, it’s the longest Paul and l in over 23yrs have been apart, he will not leave the property (we have a couple of times got him to but there must be someone there for him to leave) mentally this has been the hardest thing lve ever seen him deal with its killed me the last few weeks seeing a strong man so devastated and hurt, all you work for to be gone in a few mins but harder for him not having us staying there with him, I know everything can be replaced and it takes time and we are very lucky to have all our trucks excavators etc but it’s the unknown that is mentally draining when will we have power when will sheds start to be demolished and rebuilt how are we going to manage back at home when house is cleaned with no power, running on generators we have had amazing support and to everyone that’s been there for Paul thankyou honestly he’s been to some dark places and everyone of you mean the world to me for being there for him 🙏 and those places will take a while to get past, to see my family so broken kills me our boy Brodie lost everything and he will for ever relive that day, Paul lost what he’s worked for for so many years everyday he realises something else is gone, and Maddy and Xavier who have been amazing and my support, and to everyone who has called, texted, messaged thankyou and l apologise if l haven’t responded I’m so sorry and to our families thankyou love you all 🙏
