Gearbox back in after being fixed by Alastair and engine in with Brent’s help. Thanks guys.
Lightened flywheel is worthwhile addition.

Gearbox update….

5th gear had locked up as it was not set up correctly when rebuilt in its original resto in the 90’s. Insufficient end float...

So now loosing my splined 5th gear :( and using a welded one from a spare box.

Once again a big thanks to Alastair for the repairs.

While on a leisurely return trip from the Gold Coast New Red decided to lock the gearbox up, luckily this happened at low speed.
As my son was driving and I was on a business trip so the saviour of the day was Michael Tresillian. Thanks mate !
The gears were engaged at all times so , unless you pushed the clutch in it would try and drive.
So out come the engine and gearbox and off to Alastair’s for review.
Removing the engine was one of my worst attempts. So note to self for next time:
- you cannot pull out the complete engine with long pipes
- you need to remove carbs first then pipes

Successfully fitted a 510 readily available relay to replace the original factory unicorn relay. Extension loom and it is now located under the dash.
