It has been a real pleasure to work on this 1989 CR500.

The client bought the bike without having much knowledge of the engine condition.

The motor was stripped and cleaned. The crankshaft bearings were replaced. The con-rod was it was replaced. The cylinder was re-bored to second oversize .50mm) and a Vertex piston fitted.

The client also wanted a decompression valve fitted to the cylinder head of the CR500. The engine cases of have been stripped and painted in as near as possible to the Honda Black. A full set of replacement engine bolts fitted.

For some reason the gear shaft was bent and had to be straightened.

All electrical components including the CDI, coil, stator and rotor have been thoroughly checked and tested.

The engine reassembly went well.

Latest rebuild on a 2015 Yamaha YZ125.

Complete rebuild: new crankshaft, machined damaged cases, helicoil several threads, rebore and new piston. New water pump, seals and gaskets. Plus a new kick starter shaft and vapour blasting all cases.

A full restoration is underway for a customer's 1984 Honda XR250R. This is one of the first RFVC engines and features dual carbs.

Overall the bike is complete and ran before starting the resto, but was burning a lot of oil.

Final assembly and completion photos for a 1975 Honda GL1000 Goldwing (1st generation).

Engine has been stripped and vapour blasted. New valve guides, seals, piston rings and cam belts.

Shipped back to a happy customer.

Assembly and final photos of the 1983 Honda CR250R rebuild.

Clutch cover supplied by Russell's Clutch Covers (located near Brisbane) to replace both unrepairable clutch covers.

Cylinder rebored for new Wossner piston, top of cylinder machined to remove damage to ensure head gasket seal.

New con rod and shift forks from the second motor used in re-assembly.

Re-assembly complete and ready for return to customer.

Most recent rebuild of a 1983 Honda CR250R engine for a customer.

This arrived with a broken right case and unrepairable clutch cover. The center shift fork broke, leaving debris which is suspected to have caused the case damage.

Check out the corrosion on the magnesium clutch cover, very common for this model.

Two engines were supplied to make a single good engine.
