As this racing season gets underway, I’m sure many of you are feeling the absence of not seeing me around on the track 🤣🤣 I wanted to take a moment to reach out and let everyone know that I’ve made the decision to step back from racing this year and shift my focus to a few other important areas of my life this year.

My work has become a top priority as I dive into the world of heavy diesel mechanics, and on top of that I’ve got my new V8 toy to enjoy and play with. While I’m finding the balance between work, life, and all my other commitments, I can’t help but reflect on the amazing four years I’ve had in racing. It truly wouldn’t have been possible without the support and sponsorship from BLACK Knight RC.

Jason, I want to extend the biggest thanks for believing in me and giving me the chance to be part of the Black Knight team all these years. I’m incredibly grateful for your trust in me, and I hope I made you proud no matter where I finished. To my race buddy Gavin Sadler, thank you for being such an incredible mentor. You were always someone I looked up to. I won’t lie, it hasn’t been the same since we all went our separate ways and tracks, but I will hold onto the incredible memories we made together and the moments we shared traveling the country near and far.

A big shoutout to my other sponsors, Topline, Knuckled up and Mad Modz. I truly appreciate all of you, and Chris, hands down your magic with the wraps over the years has been nothing short of amazing.

To my family and friends thank you for being my rock and my biggest supporters. I couldn’t have done any of this without your unwavering support. Mum and Dad, your sacrifices to help me travel both nationally and internationally to follow my passion meant the world to me, and there were moments I had to pinch myself, realising this was all happening to give me every opportunity I could have. Through racing, I’ve had the privilege of meeting some truly incredible people, and I’m lucky to call many of you lifelong friends.

Although I’m stepping back from racing, I’ll still be around and will do my best to make it to the track to catch up when I can. For now, it’s over to Dad and Sienna to keep kicking up some dirt.

Saddened to hear the news today of the passing of one of our fellow racers Brian Matthews. He was one of a kind and supported me in a lot of ways and would take the shirt off his back for anyone. From the support on and off the track to the monetary contribution he gave me to put towards my expenses to go to WA for the Australian Titles he was always there to help where he could no matter how tough times were. Brian was a lover of not only quarterscale but was a mad supporter of speedway. I will forever be appreciative and grateful of you and our friendship. You will be missed by not only me but the whole racing community.

Well that’s the Qld Titles done and dusted for me. Not the finish I was hoping for but that’s racing I guess …

Finally fixed the steering problem and found my grove a little bit late bringing home the win in the 4th round. Unfortunately the prior rounds put me into the B Main for finals. Some good racing and held a couple of laps out in front at the final few and had a spin out and put me back to 4th and couldn’t recover in time to get back up some spots before the race ended.

Some awesome racing and battles today. Congratulations to everyone on their placings and for a great day.

Also a huge thanks for my home club for putting on such a great event. It’s been alot of hard work put into this weekend and it’s very much appreciated for all you have done. Let’s hope day 2 has some good racing as well. Day to cheer Sienna on as she races in the ladies race again tomorrow.
