🔧 HYUNDAI KONA EV COOLANT FLUSH ⚡🚗

We had this Hyundai Kona Ev in the workshop today for a coolant flush, addressing a issue that can affect some EVs out in the market.

⚠️ Did you know? Some earlier EVs can experience coolant crystallisation, which can lead to blockages and restricted coolant flow through the cooling system. But there is now revised coolant formulations to address this issue in the later year models, and any others from here on.

While it was here, we also fitted a fresh set of tyres, carried out an air conditioning service and took care of a couple of other little jobs to get it back on the road feeling better than ever! 👌

🚨 NOW THAT’S ONE NASTY FAILURE! 🚨

We had this vehicle in the workshop a while back and found a pretty serious issue hiding underneath it. 😳🔧

The front differential housing had developed a substantial crack also causing a significant amount of play through the diff and driveshaft with some destruction along the way.

Definitely not something you want to find in your driveline! 😬

The differential is responsible for transferring power from the driveshaft through to the wheels while allowing the wheels to rotate at different speeds when turning. So when you've got excessive movement and a cracked housing, things are definitely not where they should be.

A failure like this can lead to:

⚠️ Excessive driveline vibration and noise
⚠️ Further damage to surrounding components
⚠️Safety hazard for anyone driving

It’s a good reminder that strange noises, clunks, vibrations or excessive movement shouldn’t be ignored. Catching a problem early can save you from a much bigger repair bill down the track.

🚨 NOT WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE AT THE BOTTOM OF YOUR ENGINE! 🚨

This vehicle came into the workshop with an engine noise, and after some investigation, we found exactly where that noise was coming from. 😬🔧

As you can see in the photo, the big-end bearings have failed, causing excessive movement, with the rod caps able to move freely and bang around something you definitely should NOT have happening inside your engine!

These components are designed to be securely bolted and clamped together with the correct clearances to keep everything running smoothly.

This is also a great reminder of why keeping up with your oil changes and regular servicing is so important. 🛢️

Regular servicing can help catch issues before they turn into major engine damage. And if you have oil leaks, unusual noises or anything that doesn't sound right, don't leave it until it's too late.

Your engine relies on clean oil and correct lubrication to keep those internal components working properly. 👌

🚨 NEW HILUX SAGGING UNDER CANOPY WEIGHT? 🚨

This brand new Hilux came in with the rear sitting noticeably lower due to the added weight of the canopy and setup.

There are a couple of options when it comes to supporting additional weight:

🔧 Heavy-Duty / Higher Load Springs
💨 Airbag Suspension Assist
🔧💨 Or a combination of them both what ever vehicle you have we will be able to make the best fit for you 🛻

For this customer, they didn’t want to change the factory leaf springs, so we fitted airbag suspension support to help carry the additional load and bring the vehicle back to a much more level stance.

The difference is pretty noticeable! 👌
✅ More level ride height
✅ Better support for the added weight
✅ Improved handling and stability
✅ Helps maintain more appropriate suspension geometry and braking performance
✅ A much nicer ride overall
