Just found a picture of myself in front of my first bongo when i was 14. I had just finished rebuilding the 1200 in it and had taken it down some local back roads the evening before this pic was taken to give the rebuild a good run when inexperience smacked me hard by way of going too hot into a corner and loosing it. she promptly fell onto the right side before sliding into a table drain which caught the top edge of the windscreen, continuing the roll, ending up back on the wheels in the middle of the dirt track! So when people think i am going to roll a bongo in my later years, i tell them, "don't worry, i know how far they can go, i have rolled one before!" this does nothing to calm them down surprisingly! That was 26 years and 8 bongos ago now and i still have, along with the 7 bongos since, all the doors, the dash and the complete chassis of this first one but most of it is long gone, much like my hair!
