Toyota Hilux, Prado, Hiace, 200 series etc rear wheel bearings are typically a pretty tedious job, with up to 3 pressed on retaining rings, a pressed on ABS ring and a cir-clip (that’s usually hidden under the ABS ring, great!). On some models, the retaining rings even double as the sealing surface for the inner axle seal requiring a precise measurement and fitment. Safe to say we’ve done a few of these now. Here’s an ABS ring coming off undamaged using nothing but heat and gravity! Give us a ring for any of your light vehicle, small truck or earthmoving needs! 8952 0123

It’s always nice to have a win!
This F250 came into us a couple of days before Finke for some drivetrain repairs. Little did any of us know, it wouldn’t be the last we saw of it!
It turned up on the back of a tow truck this morning, sounding like it had a bucket of bolts loose in the engine.
After a bit of poking and prodding, we pretty quickly figured out that it had a significant injector related fault on cylinder 2.
Out came the intercooler pipes and off came the tappet cover and injector loom. In the process, it became apparent that at some point a heater hose had been replaced, and in its current configuration it was pushing the engine loom hard against the cylinder head, and had rubbed through the hot wire for #2.
A bit of cleaning and heat shrink later, the powerstroke was once again purring like a kitten!
