Dear all,
Just been advised that someone has sent out friend requests in my name, please disregard as it is some low life scum bag trying to scam you!

With the sills, doors & top of the car now painted, I’ll fit the “facsimile” rivets into the bodywork (once the rivets are painted ) and when fitted will return all panels to the car permanently.
That Leaves the front & rear body panels, boot lid & fuel panel fairing still to paint.
All inner surfaces of the bonnet and rear are already in satin silver paint.
Tomorrow I’ll put a small amount of petrol in the tank and check for any leaks at any of the compression fittings while the fuel system is under pressure.

Steady progress

Adrian (my painter) who has prepped and painted the car’s panels, just sent me a short video showing one of the sills he painted and how perfect he got the finish.
His attention to detail is amazing, the car will look amazing when all together, all due to his skills!
I’m one happy camper!!!!!!

Received back the sills and the top of the car on Saturday, have temporarily fitted them back to the car so are safe from being damaged.
The next stage will be to fit the rivets and bond these panels permanently to the car.
The front and rear panels are being painted next.

After many months of preparation by Adrian (the painter) the final colour has finally been applied to the panels.
The front and rear body clip have been prepared and will be painted shortly as well.
From this point on the car will rapidly come together and hopefully be completed before the end of the year!!

All the wet areas have now had a heavy application of Wurth rubberised stone guard applied.
Next step will be to spray a coating of Mipa Satin Silver onto the underside of all the bodies wet areas, making cleaning much easier.
Then after all the usual final preparations to the exterior, Adrian will apply several coats of Mipa opalescent flag blue , followed by a clear coat to protect the finish.
This is the colour the Scottish racing team “Ecurrie Ecosse” ran in 1957 when they won at Le Mans with car number 3.
I plan to have the roundels painted onto the car with the number 3 done in black vinyl.

Just playing around with AI with a couple of pictures of my car, doesn’t look too bad even if I say so myself!
