Der Etosha Nationalpark und die Namib-Wüste sind inzwischen bekannte Ziele im südlichen Afrika. Aber haben Sie schon einmal etwas von den mysteriösen Feenkreisen im Norden Namibias gehört? Wer keine Lust hat, alleine zu verreisen, der bekommt ein paar Tipps mit an die Hand, wie es mit der Suche nach einem Reisepartner klappt. Wie das Reisen wohl überhaupt in 20 Jahren aussehen wird? Und welche Veränderungen der Szene bevorstehen? Diese Fragen haben wir uns auch gestellt und in Branche einmal umgehört.

Eine Mischung aus futuristisch und antiquarisch beschreibt wohl den Womog von Schreinermeister Robert Scholz am besten. In 15 Jahren baute er einen ehemaligen Unimog zu einem ganz besonderen Reisemobil um. Für Verblüffung sorgt auch der Dakar 693E von Bocklet. Trotz kompakter Außenmaße, bietet die Wohnkabine auf Daily-Basis einen üppigen Wohnraum. Wie dem Hersteller das gelingt, lesen Sie in dem ausführlichen Bericht. Auf Testfahrt ging es mit dem neuesten Pickup von Impala. Mit faltbaren festen Wänden soll die Kabine viel Wohnraum dazu gewinnen.

Our goal is to travel on ☀️

It's a big challenge but we're getting there, step by step. One big milestone has been achieved: we've electrified our Pinzgauer.

There are also smaller milestones, like a new paintjob. Most Pinzgauers are military green. Our Pinz was this sunny shade of yellow when we bought it and, given our goal, we decided to keep it that way.

What would you have done? Keep the colour or change it?

Rest in peace, Mr Pinzgauer! Dr Egon Rudolf, one of the inventors of the Pinzgauer all-terrain vehicle, the kind we are converting into an electric vehicle, has passed away. The Haflinger, the Pinzgauer and the Puch G were all developed and rolled out under his watch. We have lost a formidable individual and true gentleman.

We had the honour of meeting him twice and even got to know some members of his wonderful family. Our hearts go out to all of them and everyone who knew him.

A while back, Mr Rudolf sat down with us for an interview, in which he shared anecdotes and insights from a lifelong career at the Puch-Steyr automotive company.

Dr Egon Rudolf, also known as ‘Mister Pinzgauer’, was one of the driving forces at Steyr-Puch, a man who spent his entire working life in the service of the Austrian carmaker. He started out as a graduate at the company’s manufacturing plant in Graz, in 1955, and retired as its director, in 19...

What a great weekend we had at VAN DAYS 2020! Not only did we get to share our project, we also got to meet all kinds of travellers, creators, inventors, designers and modern nomads.

Last night, we left feeling inspired, connected and lucky to have caught the last opportunity to attend such an event before new restrictions came into force today.

Thanks again to the organisers for working extra hard to make it happen! 👏

Also a huge thanks to the amazing community that gathered there for sticking to the rules and keeping it safe for everyone 👍
