The Emirates Schools Karting Championship – ESKC – is based on, and an evolution of, the Gulf Schools Karting Championship (GSKC) which was held during the 2013-2014 season
This and future editions of the ESKC will be run by the Kartdrome through the DAMC along with partner circuits (TBC): Al Ain Raceway, RAK Track and Al Forsan Raceway – under the auspices of the Automobile and Touring Club of t
he UAE (ATCUAE) and with the patronage of ATCUAE President President Dr. Mohammed Ben Sulayem. The concept is to have UAE schools enter three or four students (drivers) per team, which will also include a manger along with designated crew members, to compete in a series of one hour endurance races. Rules, regulations and scoring based on the tried and tested Sodi-World-Series which has been run at the Kartdrome for several years. The Interschool championship is a team based sport attracting Emirati and Expatriate schools where the focus will be on teamwork, strategy, commitment, discipline and of course race craft. Eligible drivers must be at least 13 years old. The series – which aims to establish itself as a bonafie extramural activity in UAE schools – will be run in the UAE winter months with the goal of having rounds at the Kartdrome, Al Ain Raceway, Al Forsan and RAK Track – and a season finale at the Kartdrome. Final rules and regulations are being drafted to ensure a level playing field, an attractive concept to encourage schools to be come involved and a format which embraces karting venues across the UAE. It is a privilege and honour to have ATCUAE President Dr. Mohammed Ben Sulayem as the Patron of the Emirates Schools Karting Championship.
